Hey guys. My name is mike and I'm "new" to the forum. Read that as, I signed up to use it before, and I let it go too long before checking it again, and my account got wiped! Anyway, I'm getting ready to do a 4 wheel brake job on my 2016 Latitude. I was cruising Amazon for 4 wheel kits, and came across Callahan auto. Seriously, Tommy Boy? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NZ8N71F/?coliid=IQSZ7KTNX3J2L&colid=37TF9H9XHR311&psc=0 I was also looking at R1 concepts, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0727SKB33/?coliid=I2F9FHJDYJIEE2&colid=37TF9H9XHR311&psc=0 Does anyone have any info on this company? Thoughts? Pretty cheap for 4 drilled and slotted rotors and pads. I really want to go with drilled and slotted, since I live and work in the Charleston area, with lots of stop and go traffic. Thanks in advance.
If you must have drill or slotted discs, I recommend slotted. However, stop and go braking does not generate enough gas from the brake pads, no surface venting on the discs is really needed. As for brake pads, I really like the EBC Red on my previous daily, not sure if they make it for the Renegade. I like the Red because it doesn't have a harsh initial bite, but it gets more braking power as heat buulds up during hard braking from high speeds, those 2 characters made the ride very balanced and comfortable for the passengers.
I have used Power Stop in the past with good results. Sleepy is right, slotted is the ways to go; cross drilled rotors are more prone to cracking under hard braking. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071WJMYV...olid=39V6PB5GDXX5Y&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it I don't think too many of us do much canon racing in our Renies to worry too much about brake rotor failures. lol
