Hey all, Just got a 2017 Latitude and I'm looking to do some cosmetic/utility upgrades. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the brightlines crossbars from eBay since I've seen a few good testimonies on here, and the Rhino Rack X-tray large since it seems to be good quality (any opinions on either is welcome). My real question is about a side ladder. I think this will be useful to reach the roof rack and they look great. Does anyone have the Madness or Valkyrie ladder? How much side mirror real estate does it take up?? Are you happy with your purchase? I'm in Canada so it's a little extra for either for me to get it here.
I didn't get around with installing a roof rack or ladder, but I with you the best with your upgrades/modifications. I ordered a Door Step. kind of clever, and works well (I actually ordered mine on Amazon, but they are out of stock). No problem with reaching anything on the roof, and nothing hanging off of the side to get ripped off.
Gobi now makes a low profile rack and ladder ( fits on liftgate) specifically for the renegade. I think it sells as a set. Not sure on price but its over 1000.00 for both. A guy on JROG just bought and installed one. Looks real nice.
Greetings! I just installed my Valkyrie pole ladder two days ago! It's a solid ladder and they have a 20% off sale going on now. I got it for easy access to my mountain bike and a roof basket. It looks bad ass to! It gives some wind noise at about 60mph and up so if that bothers you I would steer clear.
I'm planning on adding a roof rack, and I'm planning on using the Door Step instead of a ladder. I'm 5'10" so I can reach the roof with a small folding step stool I use for washing our Renny's. The only ladder I've seen is the pole ladder, and I would be too worried about some dumb arse suing because they weren't watching wear they were going and impaled their self on one of the rungs.
I just got mine in the mail. A friend was asking if the ladder could dent the quarter panel, Ive read good reviews and nobody has said anything about it denting their car. Has anyone heard or seen anything like this?
Interesting, I haven't had any denting but I can see how one might worry about the sheet metal bending. I've had it on for a few weeks now with my kids and my self using it and no issues. I weigh 190 and I believe it's rated to handle 300lbs. Install took me about 2 hours thanks to some issues getting the stubborn roof rails to unscrew enough. The one thing you do have to worry about are shoes scraping the paint behind the ladder as you climb up.
Madness Autoworks has a ladder https://madnessautoworks.com/2016-J...-cid2/jeep-renegade-roof-rack-ladder-pid12132 Gobi Racks has a ladder as well. https://www.gobiracks.com/product/jeep-renegade-rear-ladder·-driver-side/ I found out about a guy that recently made a custom roof rack for a Renegade that will mount directly to our roof rails. The rack is 50" wide x 58" long and made of 1" round tubing. I am hoping to get more photos, information and pricing soon, he may actually add them to his current line. He offers the powder coating in current Jeep colors.
Hi! Any thoughts on Warrior roof racks? Is it good? I haven't ordered yet but I just saw it on 4WheelOnline.
