I have looked at the rr hitch kit and the mopar buy everything separate and emptying every pocket route. Like the price of the rr kit but I'm reluctant on splicing my wire harness due to moisture intrusion. I've heard that the bumper that comes in the rr kit is a mopar part. With that being said could I buy the rr kit and use the mopar wire harness and it be plug and play? Then taking it to the dealer and re flashing the CPU?

I saw that kit but I really don't want to cut any wires. I think it will void the electrical warranty.

It's plug in, no splicing required.

Oh ok. Where did you mount that box? Also did you have to reflash the CPU?

I got a hitch from etrailer.com. The thing is heavy duty and awesome. Also got the wire kit and it was the easiest thing ever to install but I did it different than the instructions in the way that I was able to shove the cable through a hole under the tail light and keep the 4 prong cable outside instead of in the trunk and pulling it out everytime i use it like the instructions say

In a nutshell, you plug harnesses in between the factory harnesses and the tail lights, and you plug-in to the fuse block to power the controller. No cutting required on the factory parts.

I did have to cut and splice on the RR kit harness, to attach the end connector onto the controller harness.

I would recommend the RR kit because it doesn't hurt departure angle and doesn't really add extra weight. If you don't have a TH, order a TH red hook and bolts from some place like car-part.com (association of auto wreckers) and retrofit it in since you'll have the opportunity to add it.

Can you post a pic? I'm curious how the finished set up looks.

I'm sorry, I didn't take any, we were working well into the night and didn't get any good photos.

In a nutshell, unplug your wire harness from the light housing like if you were changing the bulb, then plug their harness into the jeep's harness, then plug their harness into the light housing.
