I have a 17 DH. I've been experiencing a weird issue when rolling at 30-40mph. It's usually in 6th gear, sometimes 5th when it happens... I get a strange vibration that I can feel in the floor and the pedals, it's a high frequency vibration that I can only explain feels like if you downshifted way too many gears and the motor was revving RPMS at redline (its not tho, its usually very low RPMs between 1-2k).. Swapping into "manual" mode makes it go away. It seems like the transmission might be trying to downshift or something, but it just vibrates and doesn't shift? Idk. I did a google search and it looks like others have had this same issue. Trying to gather some feedback before "wasting" time bringing it into the dealership. Anyone else have this issue? Did you bring it to the dealership? What did they say? Did they fix it?
You are probably at the threshold of a shift. I sometimes feel this when the transmission downshifts from 6th to 5th. It seems to hold 6th as long as it can before downshifting. I have heard that FCA is still working on the transmission software. My transmission can shift at slower speeds in auto mode than I can when using manual mode. For example: in auto mode the transmission seems to shift into 6th around 38-39 mph. In manual mode I can't shift into 6th until 42-43 mph. My Renegade has 42k miles. The transmission shifting is tuned for maximum mpg, I would rather have it tuned for regular driving. I had a Jeep Compass FWD loaner that had the same engine and transmission. The compass had a lot of pep and was very smooth.
Well, I was going to take it in to the dealership to get looked at but all my warranties are restricted.. So, does anyone else have any more info about this issue?
See thread - https://toasterjeep.com/index.php?threads/deserthawk-is-not-a-river-hawk.1860/ I'm just pissed because no one told me up front. If they had, I would have been on insurance's ass to consider it a total loss. Waiting for a call from the FCA Area manager to discuss the restricted warranty to see if I can get it lifted.. I think I'm SOL on this one.
Well above the Area Manager that voided my warranty "because reasons", and it did zero good. He openly refused to give his boss info and still works there.....wtf sort of crap is that? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
No problem, best of luck! Back to the main subject-- Has anyone experienced this strange vibration that I have? Is this something that I should pay for out of pocket to get addressed, or wait until it gets worse?
