I order a ATP 2" lift for my Renegade Trailhawk. Anyone out there know the biggest tire/wheel setup for this lift? And what type of spacer i will need, if any.

The ATP lift is a solid setup. I have had both the Daystar and the ATP. The Daystar ended up having creaks constantly and I had to tighten hardware multiple times back to the torque specs. New sway bar links etc...But I live in a cold/hot climate here in Wyoming. Just my 2 cents.

I recommend the 1 inch spacers if keeping the original wheels. They have inlets built in so that the heads of any hardware, aka lug bolts, won't be an issue with a flush mounting. If you go with a new wheel set you might have to get an 1.25" to have enough depth for the lug bolt heads to hide if mounting a flat backed wheel. Alternatively, they do make bolt heads that are smaller/low profile that might work but I don't know of the tensile strength of such bolts. Make sure the spacers are hub centric. I like these for the price and quality. I kept my wheels and have had both 235/65R17 and 225/70R17 tire sizes. My favorite have been the 225/70R17 for just a bit more lift. https://simpletire.com/yokohama-p225-70r17-01267-tires FYI - The 225 does not have the same options as the 235.

    Happy modding!

To be sure, the 1" spacers are recommended for both 235/65r17 and 225/70r17? If I want to keep the same wheels?

Affirmative. If nothing else you will enjoy the wider stance and more aggressive look on the Renegade too.

I was looking at tires with the 225/70r17 and found some bfg's All terrain KO. Because it's a different tire compared to the Yokohama, would the 1" spacer still work with this tire and wheel?

I believe you mean 225/65r17? The KO2 doesn't provide a 225/70r17. Unless your referencing the original KOs?

In any case, wheels specs vary slightly from the universal standardized spec. Use those numbers as a reference but also verify on the manufacturers website the exact size they call out for a particular size.

Your 1" spacers will help you avoid hitting the strut but are going to swing the tire out further when you turn the wheel. So...You will want to consider trimming the pinch seam to avoid rubbing if you go with any size tire above 29". My size is about 29.5". Realistically it's hard to go any higher than that without some serious cutting.

Yeah I meant to say the original KO, IMG_1866.JPG

I saw that these bfg tires are the same size as the yokohama tires you got setup on your Renegade. And so since you have the 1" spacers and 225/70r17 yokohama tires and they work perfect on your jeep I assumed maybe the original bfg KO 225/70r17 could work with the same spacer and wheels as well.

BFG KO hasn't been produced in years. It will not be a good ride, and wet weather will probly be like driving in ice. The Yokohama is old too, not as old at that BFG. 235/65/17 - 225/70/17 the difference is the 225 is old news, kuhmo and old yokohamas is all that's out there in that. 235 Yokohama GO15 should be available.

    Hello,

You seem to know a lot about these setup. help me understand. I'm looking to buy the ATP lift for Christmas (hoping they have a nice discount!). Once I go with this setup and keep my original wheels (since I'm already dumping money and can't afford nicer wheels) Can I go with 235/65/17? and how much of the pinch well do I have to trim? I've already read and reviewed WayOLife's pinch well seem mod. I'm wondering if I do that I can fit 235/65/17 with no rubbing? please help. I really need to get this setup going before summer next year :) and as for as spacers go, I think I should be good with that 1" from amazon.

I'm thinking about these tires. What's your insight?
