They are 17x8.5, actually. 40mm offset would work if the wheels where 7" wide. My wheels are 17x8.5 with a 35mm offset, and I needed spacers to run them. Stock wheels are 6.5-7" wide with a 38mm offset. So.... if the wheels are a 40mm offset and they are any wider than 7", you'll need some help to get them to fit.
This might be old news, but I just mounted BFG 225/65/17 KO 2s on my Renegade TH. Stock rims, no spacers, Daystar 1.5 inch lift. No rubbing. Pretty happy so far. Only difficulty was finding this odd size tire.
Yours? If not, I wonder how much metal massaging it took to get those tires to fit. They look awesome.
It is mine. Just got it last week. I may ask the dealer to lower the tire size though. It does catch the inner wheel well cover sometimes.
When it's time for tires in a few years hopefully there'll be plentiful 16" Sport steel wheels out there. More meat and more options without requiring spacers appeals.
Hi, Does anyone know of a 17" wheel that can run with the 225/65r/17 KO2 tires on a stock setup? No lift or spacers? Something that looks better than the stock rims?
According to desertrenny they will. I don't know how to share the thread but it's titled New Shoes... https://toasterjeep.com/index.php?threads/1981/ I did it!
I read a thread on here where they said there was a little rub at hard breaking with this set up...in the 235/60/r17 on stock TH Thread desertrenny said... "Looks great! Are those the 225/65/17 on 17x8 et20 rims? No rubbing? Correct, at full steering lock and hard braking there is a slight rub. Could reshape the plastic without even doing the full pinch seam mod I believe. Thank you! I am happy, 4 more on the way with hubcentric rings and new lug bolts. These wheels are a little thicker than the stock alloys"
I think you misread that. They were talking about 225/65r17 KOs. Read this one... https://toasterjeep.com/index.php?threads/971/
Wheels came in today. I'll have them put on tomorrow and hopefully post a pic or 2. I really wish I could go ahead with the new tires cause I think they will look like crap.
Fresh out the shop! 17x8 RS3 +20 offset. Stock 215/65r17 Wildpeaks. No lift. No spacers. No more money.
