I expect to be one of the first buyers of a 'ToasterJeep' in my area due to the need for something smaller, more economical and carrying an automatic transmission for the wife. I get to say 'goodbye' to my roadwhale of a full-sized pickup truck.

Heh. The wife loves our JKU Wrangler, but with a stick shift, she can't drive it and because of its size she's afraid of more narrow roads. The only automatic transmission we have is a 25-year-old full-sized Ford pickup and she dropped a wheel off the shoulder in that one time--to the point she refuses to drive it any more. So, it's time for something smaller and she insists on some form of true 4WD, not just AWD. We'll have to see which model of Renegade she chooses, but I'm pushing for the Trailhawk.

sucks you have to get rid of the truck but it will be totally worth it! im looking into one for the sole fact of needing something better on gas. plus my mom said my jeep is becoming to close to being off road only. if only she really knew lol

post up some pics when you get one! im sure you can swing the wife into a trailhawk

Actually, it doesn't suck that we have to get rid of the RoadWhale; we bought it for a specific purpose and honestly that's the only purpose the truck gets used for twice a year. In now over three years of owning it, we've put less than 4,000 miles on it. It's just too big and clumsy compared to anything else I've owned newer than 1985. The thing's literally a whale as far as I'm concerned.
