We wanted to enhance the look of the stock Renegade so we had it lifted with a 1.5" Daystar kit and added some nice all-terrain 255/55/18 Goodrich tires.

It looks like it turned out great - the extra height and the aggressive tires make a real difference!

The problem is that the Daystar kit has been giving us problems from the get go. Whenever she turned, it clunked under the driver's seat.. we took it back to the Jeep install shop and they said it was an older kit and Daystar had a fix.

After 3 visits it still isn't fixed - now, it sounds like popcorn popping even when going straight. We need to go with a different brand of lift kit.

So, we're probably going to have them rip out the lift kit. Another issue is that they ONLY install Daystar so we need your recommendations on an alternative lift kit that will work with a 2018 Altitude.

reviews and recommendations are highly appreciated.

    thanks! IMG_0411.jpg

Are you looking for 1.5" specifically or was that just because that's what daystar delivered? Search "lift" and I'm sure the results page will explode, tons of useful info.

Hi.. we weren't looking for a 1.5" specifically.. we took it to two places and they both said that was the highest (1.5 - 2") we could go.

we wound up going to a local jeep specialty shop and having it all done there. the problem is that they are contractually bound to use Daystar only.

sounds like that shop put themselves into a corner with that one. I have been running the 2" spacer lift from ATP for a little over a year now and I haven't had any issues with it at all.

They also have springs available with it now for their 4" lift combo

but if you order from ATP be forewarned, they are a small company and they barely keep any inventory in stock. They usually make the products as they get ordered so it could take a little while for you to actually get it.

+1 on the ATP thing. I canceled my order because the backorder status kept getting longer and longer.

they had actually sent me an apology letter a few months after I got my stuff outlining all that. But I got my 2" spacer lift in about 2 weeks, before their popularity exploded and they started branching out into other Jeep models. My light mounts however, took almost 4 months to ship. I ordered those about 6 months after I did my lift after they more then quadrupled their offerings. By the time they shipped there were almost identical mounts available on Amazon of all places.

I can attest to the quality of their products, the lift is outstanding! The sway bars are grease less so no worries about tearing a grease boot. you just have to wait for a little bit. The light mounts though, Amazon is cheaper

Yah, the deed has been done. Im sure as soon as I canceled they will start shipping them out lol. Red coils... Silver coils... They are all going to turn mud brown anyways at some point :D. My expectations for the sway bars included in these kits are not high due to a lot of reports of failures. For those deciding on which kit to get, im sure they wont go wrong with either setup.

I don't know much about the Avid lift other then what I've heard here in the forums but I have the Eibach springs and I've been quite happy with them. They do creak for a while as they break in but the improvement in ride quality on the trails is outstanding. And a nice pressure wash after getting out of the mud keeps them nice and silvery lol

I hear great things about both, Just a matter of how much patience you have lol. I was thinking of puting a spray can to these springs. I was on a wrangler forum, some people say their spraycan paint jobs on the springs held up. So idk i might do that later down the road.

I've got the Teraflex 1.5 and it is fabulous. No creaking and the quick sway bar disconnects are a huge plus for me, makes the Jeep leaps and bounds more capable off road. Got it installed at 4 Wheel Parts and they did a great job and said that they had done this kit on other Renegades
