I'm currently looking into adding a powered subwoofer in the back of my renegade. I've already added kicker 6×9s on the 4 door speakers to replace the stocks. Has anyone else already done this with the stock head unit? If so how does it sound? I'm having a hard time imagining how you would hide the speaker wires to the head unit. Also having a hard time finding an entrance through the firewall to get to the battery. I've also heard this could possibly void my warranty. Has anyone else figured all this out? I would appreciate any advice or experience in this subject, thanks!

There is a body plug in the firewall just up and left from the brake pedal, it leads to just behind the computer in the engine compartment, cut about a 1/4" X into it, and you can put wires through it, I Ran my CB power and aux cube light switch wires through it, It's tricky getting the wires once you put them through, pull the body plug, and put a flaslight on the floorboard, then open the hood to see where the wires are going to come through.

There is space underneath all the trim just above the carpet that you could run your amp wires through, you can actually push wires up under them without even taking the panels off, then run the wires up tot the dash inside the kick panel. That's where I ran my CB antenna wire.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prevents a manufacturer from voiding your warranty when an aftermarket item is installed properly on your vehicle. So as long as you install the parts properly, the only thing a dealer can refuse is to warranty items directly affected by the product, so if you install an Amp, and it blows up the head unit, then Chrysler would have a reasonable case in refusing to warranty the head unit, but if your power steering rack goes out, that would still be warrantied.

Similarly, Putting a lift on will give them justifaction to not warrant suspension components, the drive shaft, and axle shafts, but they would still warranty the exhaust system...

I got lazy, I've just got a Wilson magnetic on the roof between the front and back door. I need to find better place for it, I keep knocking it down on trails with overhanging branches, which is all of them here...

I should have said that more clearly, I was lazy from the start :)

The Wilson is on the roof, but the wire does run as described, it goes down between the doors (Second Picture) Then runs under the trim around the doors at the bottom to the dashboard then to the center console where the Cobra connector box is underneath. That took a nine foot cable, and there was no slack in it at all, Since the next 'correct' cable length is 18ft, If you want to get to the back of a Renegade, you end up with a lot of extra cable you have to figure out what to with it... (Looping the CB cable is really a no-no for best signal). What I should do is find a way to get it to the hood, but then you have to have enough slack to move it around when you open the hood...
