I have read a lot of posts here and did plenty of research for the right tires. After finding these on Amazon for $104, I was sold. Sears installed for $70. I picked up some 16” stocks on OfferUp and had them mounted with the new tires. The 18” are nice but I think this is a much better look. Not as heavy as BFG, no rubbing, lift or spacers either. The only issue was making sure the weights (for balancing) were placed on the lower lip, nearest the the actual rim so they don’t rub against the calipers. There is very little clearance on the outer rim and the Sears weights were just a hair thicker than the stock weights. I’m very satisfied with this upgrade. I’ll post more pics when I get her washed. PNW spring rain is in full effect right now.
Yes. It does feel a little taller. The ride is slightly different in that you can feel the weight a little more, but I imagine BFGs are worse. A little MPG loss, but mine did pretty darn well to start with so no complaints. I absolutely love the look. It feels like a 4x4. It didn’t before. I also considered the General Grabber AT3, but price point was higher. If you want lighter weight, Grabbers are probably the way to go. I’m very happy with the Falkens though.
That’s right. I didn’t want to hassle with a lift and I just don’t trust spacers. Wanted something I could pop right on the stock specs and this did just that. So no mods at all.
I did it!!! Stock 16's with the falken 235/70 r16s!!! Thank you so much AJ.!!!! They are such a perfect fit! It's very very close to rubbing at multiple points but it's no less than 1/4", no spacers no lift and they look great!
Nice! I’m a few thousand miles in now and still no trouble with rubbing. Just a little different ride and hit to the mpg. Not terrible though. Lots of compliments, but more importantly, I like it. Enjoy.
Well we could easily just swap back to the alloys/road tires if we wanted to regain that mpg at any time! That's the best part!
Dont forget the free lift! Definitely setting higher, previous tries were a 27.8 and these are 29s!!!
Nice, will the 235/70/16 fit ok without any mods (lift, spacers, pinch seam)? They look huge!!! Please post pictures after the install.
I certainly hope so, based on everyone saying they made no mods to theirs on this thread, lol. I'll post some pics after the install. It does look like it's going to be close to the lower spring seat on the strut, but the other pics in this discussion show it clears on theirs. Fingers crossed.
They fit! 2015 Latitute 4x4. Front comes very close to the lower spring seat, but it does fit. The rear actually has a bit more clearance than the front, too.
