Bilstein has a strut that fits the renegade, anybody have the b8 5100s? If you do please post any pics or info you got about running them. I order a full set and waiting to install my eibach coils and avid spacer 1.5 lift. Thinking about painting my coils red!

I was thinking about running these for the 1" lift paired with Teraflex 1.5" lift and the Eibach springs. Not sure what that would do for the sway bar disconnects that comes in the Teraflex kit though.

Well I got all my stuff just saving money for the install. I'm going to paint the coils red in the meantime, I'll keep you posted. I heard to run the stock disconnects or put lock tight.

Looks good! Are those the bilsteins or did you paint the stock struts? Rattle can ? Normal prep or just wipe everything down with mineral spirits?

Those are 5100s. They lifted it an inch and gave about a half inch of strut to tire clearance. I painted the eibach lifting coils. I just used high temp rattle cans. I'm very happy with this setup. I dont go easy on my trailhawk either and everything holds up. I had the daystar 1.5 spacer lift on before I switched it. It lowered the back end and now is a perfect setup. I have avid 1.5 spacers but hesitant to install because of the CV joints.

If anyone is interested in them, they are all different part numbers for the B8 5100 +1" lift struts.

    RF 22-278081
    LF 22-278074
    RR 22-278104
    LR 22-278098

All those are +1" longer struts. I just got the numbers today and ordered a set to go with the Eibach lifting springs. I'll be installing them on our 2019 Trailhawk the weekend of the 29th if they all show up this next week.

Since you just purchased, what's the best place you found price wise? When I was looking, I didn't like what I saw, lol. Pay to play, I know... but I like to save $$ where I can.

I used Suspension Connection, ordered the Eibachs from them for $306 (same as other low price places on the net). The struts were $135 each, evidently that's the minimum price as I've seen it in other places on the net. Regular price is $143.99, but I found 2 other places doing the $135.99 price. Found 2 places selling the set of 4 for $572 vs $543.96 which is what I paid.

Not cheap, but a better offroad option than a puck lift in my opinion. Plus it's made to be an offroad setup and it has more tire clearance. The lower spring perches are higher up the strut as Pinkstink13 noted, so should be able to run a larger tire without a spacer.

Thanks for posting Pinkstink & Traveller!

I wonder if the bilsteins have the same lip on the bottom of the strut like the stock ones (the lip they recommend trimming off so it won't hit the axles on full droop/extension)?

I really like the idea of gaining clearance between the tires and spring perch. I wish I'd gone that route instead of eibach springs before getting my 225/65r17 Toyo ATIIs. With the bilsteins, it sounds like I'd have gained the clearance for the 235/65r17s I really wanted.

Doesn't look like it, the mounts don't have the wrap around stamped section.

Heads up this setup is very stiff! I'm going to disconnect my front sway bar to allow more flex for everyday driving.

Dont stack spacers on this lift set up! Also eibachs and the 5100s are way stiffer than the Konis. Highly recommend no sway bars. I've already bent a strut running no spacers but the sway was being used. Hints why now I wont be running the sway.

Now that you've had some time on your lift. What're your impressions?

Has the ride softened any now that the springs are broken in a bit?

Any issues that have come up?

Anything you'd change if you could do it over?

** I still haven't installed my Eibach springs. Still trying to figure out if I want them by themselves, with bilsteins, or maybe just bilsteins. It's my wife's jeep so we won't be offroading. And the bilsteins alone sound like they'd give the clearance I want for larger tires (235/65r17) without too harsh a ride that my wife would complain about.

If you're not going to off road no need for the eibachs. I had to disconnect my sway bars for the ride to be less choppy. I dont believe you will have to do so if you just run your struts.

If I could do it all over again I would of bought an fj. The renegade is fun but it's a car with a off road badge. I didn't do any trimming to the strut for the clearance of the drive axle. I have had a loose sound coming from my passenger side strut. For the life of me can't figure it out. I had the motor mount replaced so I don't know if its related to that or not
