I just purchased a used 2017 Jeep Renegade Latitude. It came with Dunlop Signature II 215/60R17 tires. The tread is really bad and I want to get some all terrain tires. Yokohama has Geolander G015 in the same size but I really like the aggressive look and performance of the Hankook Dynapro AT'M. I have seen various posts with this tire but in different tire sizes on the latitude. I honestly have no idea which tire size would be best for me to get without having to get extra stuff like lifts and spacers or running into issues like rubbing. Does anyone know what size would be best for my Renegade?
225/65R17 should fit without issues. When my Renegade was stock, I ran BFGoodrich KO2 225/65R17 without issue.
Thanks! The BFGoodrich K02's were my first choice but I read that the weight of the tires could damage the engine? Thought maybe the Hankooks would have been safer on the Latitude. I noticed the Hankooks don't come in 225/65/17. Do you think going up to 235/65R17 would be okay?
If your Renegade came with the 215/60R17 then your tire is about a 27.2 inch tire. The 235/65R17 are a 29 inch tire. I do not think they will fit with rubbing at turn. They are about .5 inch too large/tall. Check out this Tire Size Calculator. Inter the stock size tire on your vehicle in the top section with a +40 mm offset (the offset of your Renegades stock rims). Inter the size of the tire that you want to install in the second section, and click 'Compare'. From there you will be able to see the difference between the two size tires. AND how far they will stick in or out depending on the offset of the rim. If you have a +40 mm offset and you add a 1 inch spacer, minus 25 mm (25 mm = 1 inch) = +15 mm and enter that number for the offset in the second section. This will show you how much farther the rim will stick out using a 1 inch spacer. You will need a 1 inch spacer to fit a 235/65R17 tire, or it is going to hit the spring perch on the strut. ... you will also need the preform the pinch weld modification and probably at least a 1.5 inch lift.
