So I broke a sway bar bushing bracket somehow. The jeep has 114k miles on it. Can't say I checked these ever. The real problem is that literally zero people have come up with an aftermarket solution. You can't even buy the bushing by themselves from the dealer/MOPAR. It comes as an assembly. So for now I guess I'm getting a new assembly. There's a great write-up over here at https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/poly-sway-bar-bushing-install.80338/ . However, that was using a bracket that was not broken. So, I will be working on designing something to hold an OTS bushing, probably greaseable, in the near future because I am not happy that I have to get a whole new thing and at some point, I will probably need to replace the endlinks. It'll come down to ordering some material and then hoping a local shop will just machine it for me for not too much money. Would love to machine it myself, but not usually allowed to do stuff like that at work.

Will update with prices for stuff and replacement cost afterwards.

If anyone is interested in an aftermarket bushing bracket/bushing, lemme know. I'll see if I can make multiple.

There are lots of Renegades in the Junkyards now, And looking at car-part.com it seems the price for a stabilizer bar is around $45... Buying one should give you two of those brackets to play with... I'll bet that's cheaper than they can be fabbed, though if you were to fab some up, they'd probably be a lot more durable than the factory ones!

Thanks, I have never used that website. Didn't really think about pulling old ones off a junk rene. Was hoping to get something in-person to just make it happen quickly, but guess I have to wait.

What that site basically is is the telex system the junkyards have used since the 70s, It will search distance from you...I use it to find parts in local yards (90% of the time the junkyard 2 miles from my house has what I need, But if you call them, they won't bother to look up a sub $100 part).

But if you call them up and give them their stock number from car-part.com, they'll pull the part and have it ready for you when you show up.

So look based on your zip code, and you probably will get what you need the same day...

    Appreciate that.

As an update: I disconnected the endlinks/swaybar to prevent any damage to any of the boots or undercarriage. Honestly it's a great ride off-pavement and not terrible on teh road. Just a little extra dive on turns, so I just have to be a little more patient on turns. Definitely going to get a bracket modeled up and see if I can get something made locally.
