So I've begun ordering some parts for my renegade and plan to document my build here. So far I've ordered Daystar's 1.5" lift kit and 1" wheel spacers from Renegade Ready. As soon as the parts start rolling in I'll post up some before, during, and after pics. I'm still up in the air about when tires I'm going to use and if I'm going to switch to a 16" rim or just run an all-terrain on my current 17's. I just wish we had better tire options for the Trailhawk.
Thanks Wayoflife and thanks for your build thread as well. It was quite inspirational. I think I've finally decided that it's worth paying the money for new wheels so I can put mud tires on there. It just looks so much cooler.
LOL!! Funny you would say as much. Cindy and I had been debating about keeping the factory wheels and just running AT's but couldn't get past the fact that NONE our Jeeps run AT's. MT's not only look cooler, they perform better on the trail
I hear you. My 93XJ runs MT's, my 2014 JKUR runs MT's, and now I want my damn toaster to run MT's lol.
LOL!! That's awesome. Clearly not for everyone but being that you were a real Jeep owner before the Renegade came out, you know exactly where we're coming from
Woohoo!! Can't wait to see your Renegade once it's all done. As far as working on a "new" Jeep goes, tell me about it
Bummer. Was that a strut bolt? If so, did this happen while trying to get it tightened up to torque spec?
Yep, was trying to torque it to spec and it snapped. Not sure if my extension on the torque wrench made it off by too much or the bolts just suck.
