Sorry to hear that man, hope DS makes it right for you. I think they are having serious issues with their lift kit right now. I stopped by my local 4wheel shop to inquire about a cost to install the DayStar kit a few days ago, and the shop told me that they couldn't add the kit to an invoice to give me a quote. Meaning they aren't currently selling to dealers, he said it wouldn't even give him the option of ordering it if we wanted to. He told me exactly what it stated as the reason, something like "return only, not currently available," but I cant recall word-for-word off hand. But basically it sounded like they had a recall, and aren't currently shipping out the kits. Hopefully they fix the weld issue and start shipping again with a really nice kit, possibly addressing the alignment issues that some are having as well.
The brackets should be designed with a full weld on all sides. Essentially a U shape around it. Now it also appears as though the base material should be beefed up as well based on this failure.
Yeah, same problem in Bama. Just talked to the shop that ordered it for me, only to find that he hasn't been able to order it. Apparently, they must have halted production until they figure all of this out. That's a good thing. I hope they get it sorted out. I won't be adding any mods to my Jeep, otherwise. Too bad I've already ordered custom wheels and bigger tires that won't fit without that lift.....
Day star just sent me new brackets as well as a 50 dollar certificate to compensate for me paying a welder. I've got to say I'm impressed with their customer service. New brackets look much beefier. I was only expecting replacement brackets, so the fact that they reacted so quickly speaks volumes.

Are they recommending new welds to strengthen the bracket. Are they going to send new brackets with new welds? I'm a little nervous going out now
Now that is exactly what I was wanting to see in terms of welds. MUCH improved and more like I would expect from Daystar. Didn't anticipate anything less from their customer service either because they've always been top notch. Is there any difference in the thickness of the material used on the replacement bracket vs the original one? Now if they'd work out a one piece upper strut spacer for the rear vs the three individual spacers then that would put any concerns that I had to rest.
Awesome, that bracket looks great! I like how the inside is welded up too. I just checked mine as I have the old brackets and so far, they still look fine. That being said, I'll be wanting new brackets for sure.
Daystar is sending me 2 of the new brackets and paying for the install. They stand behind their products and do whatever is needed to make it right. Not sure if the shop is looking forward to a second go around... They had some trouble the first time.
I heard from my off road shop today too. They confirmed that they will be sending out the kit with the new brackets like Ender has. Yay!
I had alignment questions, and brought up Ender's situation.!they sending new brackets! Great service!
I wasn't sure what it was , but they had problems on the rear assembly. It was so far out of alignment till Daystar talked them through it. I'm just disappointed in have to put off this weekends trip.
