I'll leave the Beats Audio hate to other threads and just ask: for those with the Beats Audio in their Renegade, how do you have the EQ (bass/midrange/treble), fade and balance set for your ride? Flat line or tweaked?
Mine is set with fade favoring a couple notches to the back, left to right square middle, mid treble and treble couple to the plus side and bass about mid plus. I'm happy with it except could use some more volume but I believe it's sat radio to blame because the commercials are significantly louder than the music.
im actually sitting at dealership right now getting oil and and service update to the amp for beats audio sound quality issue. ill post my results.
Id be interested to hear if you think there's a difference. Not at all pleased with the beats...its pretty beat
ok, tsb 08-065-16, is the update i got. on first impressions it is waaaaaaay better. sound is now through all speakers, bass, its just good . i will update after more time with it.
after spending more time this update definitely did the trick, everything sounds waaaay better. the sound is fuller and you can hear it spread through jeep from all speakers, bass is more responsive, even at low volume there is bass from back sub. I am really happy with results, dont even think i will consider replacing speakers now.
Wow that is amazing ! I am going to see if my dealership knows about this fix! Is this something that all jeep dealerships know about? How did your service know about this fix?
fix was posted by another user on another forum, called dealership and asked about TSB 08-065-16 which is this fix, they had it on computer so we booked for update. here is forum link http://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/fo...016-beats-audio-disappointment-thread-13.html
didnt mean to offend, just thought if you cared about settings you might care about better sound also.
Opus after my original reply I had a chance to see if tweaking with equalizer made a difference. I had everything up 3-4 notches. Turned them all back to center mark, trebles even a-1 and noticed with bass at dead center had a better boom them before. Almost like turning bass up provides less bass, but at center had more bass. Have you noticed this too?
I'm not sure if up means less bass, but I agree that turning up the bass doesn't seem to do much at all. I consulted the Google and was surprised by the number of people who suggest keeping your equalizer "flat line". Their rationale is that the music should already be mixed the way the artist intended and messing with an equalizer only distorts the sound. Maybe in this case less is more.
I'm still playing with the tone and placement but it seems like every time I change it sounds "better", but I'm not sure if it's really better, or just better because it's new and different.
I read that there is a software update for the Beats audio. You'll have to take it to the dealer to get it. People that have done it have noted a significant improvement in the sound quality.
I read this also just trying to do with what I have now till I can do the update. And I want to wait to see if this update continues to keep it's settings, bc if it doesn't no reason to do the update.
Software updates you can do on your own if your comfortable doing so. Of course you can always bring it in. But it's more convenient for me to download them to a flashdrive and hook it up. Same process they would do anyways. https://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/
I had the update done and what a world of difference. It sounds so much better. At my dealership they said there were a bunch of updates available for the renegade.
