I finally got my Geolandar G015 225/65/17's installed today. First impressions are that I immediately noticed the slight lift. It can't be much, but I noticed I was sitting a little higher. Once I got off driving things def felt more firm than over the Falkens. I could feel the grip. I got them up to highway speed and there was no noticeable noise or anything. The ride felt just slightly smoother than before. All stock there is no rub or anything. They might not look super aggressive like the BFG Ko2's, but I'm pretty happy with how they look. Before:
How do you like these tires after having them for a few months? I was considering them. Just want a little more offroad traction without compromising mpg. I got too much mud in the stock Falkens and that ended my last outing when I couldn't follow my friends wrangler up a hill.
I had them for a week and got rid of them. They tracked horribly on the grooved concrete highway I take to work. they literally would turn the wheel out of my hands if it didn't hold really firm. MPG was good, didn't get a chance to take them in the dirt. they are more of a hybrid AT, HT tire. Replaced them with Big O A/T in the same size 225-70-16. Yokohama ATS and the new GO15 have the best road manners for an allterrain tire. They are def more road then off-road, but I used them for 10k before my KO2s. I did have the ATS, but off-roaded with another TH who was lifted with the GO15s and they performed just as good as the older (my) model. Went over the same obstacles with no hesitations. A highway would be to blame for robinsonmac's issue. The wider grooves in the tread (wet weather assistance) catch the grooved road and pulls. Change the tread to a less circumferentialy grooved option will only help. MPG is basically the same as stock was, due to the lightweight XL H rating. I drove hard, and have rock rails and got about 22. Hwy would get 26~24. KO2s I'm at 21.9 and higher at times. Mud clearing is decent, better than any 'all season' stock tire for sure. Compared to the BFG tho, no comparison, just so you know
Problem with the G015's is the narrow blocks actually fit in the grooves more than the bigger blocks on the more traditional all terrain tires that are wider than the grooves. The new tires track much better on the same highway. I've driven the same road for 3 years, 5 days a week in 3 different vehicles w/ 6 different tires. Renegade w/ The stock conticraps had a little tracking, G015's severe tracking, Big O A/T's less the Conticraps, Sonic with Hankook performance tires same as Conti, Kia Sorento w/ Cooper LSX A little, w/ Hankooks a little more.
