So I'm at about 4400 miles, and soon I'll need an oil change. Since my dealership is 30 miles away and I work Mon-Fri I'm wondering if taking it to the Jiffy-Lube-style local chain of shops that are open Sat will be fine. I know some people have run into shops not resetting the oil life correctly, and also I am wondering whether Jeep cares if I use a non-dealership place to change oil. Anyone had good/bad experiences with local oil change shops? Any advice?

Jeep/Chrysler doesn't care what you do with your car. but word of advice. Go to Jeep dealer and get the oil filter. Even if you're planning on taking it to a small shop. Why you ask? because if anything goes wrong with your engine, they'll blame the Chinese oil filter and your warranty will be voided to fix the engine. I've seen and heard this too many times. Go get a filter from Amazon, or mopar website. save yourself a headache.

If you get your oil changed somewhere other than the dealer, make sure the oil meets the manufacturer requirements and maintain the paperwork in the event you would need to pursue warranty work in the future.

P.S. you don't need to go to the dealership you bought your Jeep from. Go to any Chrysler, Jeep dealer. Unless you have free oil changes from where you bought your car. I don't think it transfers over.

Also if you have a trailhawk or deserthawk, the skid plate needs to be removed to change the oil.... not sure how Jiffy would feel about doing that.

Personally, I'm not letting anyone touch my DH except for dealerships.. At least until the warranties are up.
