I have had my 17 Sport 2.4 4x4 for a little over 5 months now.
7,000 miles and I think I am beginning to appreciate my engine and Trans more, if anyone can understand what I'm saying. I have the base model upgraded to Sport package and I know what every button on my dash does, unlike my wifes Tuscon which has so many buttons you have to park to find the radio volume knob[IMG] I find my Rene to be a solid, well built vehicle. I have always liked the ride of my Jeep and now that the engine and trans are starting to break in to my liking and running on all 4 it really is twice as enjoyable to drive. I'm not saying I wouldn't like more power or that this is some kind of luxury vehicle but I feel good driving it[IMG]
How do other Renegade owners feel about their Rene ? [IMG]

Only 400 miles on my '17 Sport 2.4 4x4 and I love every bit of it.

Gets nearly double the fuel mileage as my wrangler, very comfortable ride, more than enough power, and plenty off road capability for getting me and my friends to trailheads.

I think a lot of the complaints you read about power, or offroad ability come from people with unrealistic expectations of the Renegade. It was built for a particular role, and I feel that it fills that role perfectly.

It's not bad for the price point. Good overall function from grocery getter to weekend trail rider.

Transmission is just a little clunky and slow to shift.

At first... I kept yearning for a little more pedal subconsciously, but I was coming from a lighter car with a little more than 100 additional ponies under the hood and would find myself looking for what wasn't there. Now I find myself chillin' in my fun little ride... the tranny never bothered me and the engine provides plenty of power in the mountains and the freeway.

My Latitude has 45,000 miles on it and the engine and transmission are working great together. The transmission has changed a little over the miles. The shift points are a little different as the mileage creaps up. It would never shift into 8th gear until about 63 mph, now it shifts into 8th at 58 mph. Same for 6th, use to be 42 mph, now it is about 38. It shifts smooth and the engine chugs along really nice. Seems to be peppier.

When I use autostick mode it shifts a little different. It is still at 42 for 6th and about 62 for 8th. I really like the autostick mode and use it mostly on back roads or when I want to get around someone quickly on the highway. The Renegade is a fun car to drive.
