I am new here, and believe there is/was another write up but on a different knob, yet I thought I'd share my adventure in replacing the OEM knob.

First off, let me give my thanks to those on this or the other forum that have played with replacing the shift knob, insight from there was helpful in replacing mine. How so? We'll, learning that we share our shift column and knob with the Dodge Dart and some interwebs perusing led me to shift knobs by Craven Speed. I am in the PNW, so I felt at home that they were too, I just hope there not Oregon Ducks fans.

So, I popped the top off the old one and used a 10mm socket to take the knob assembly off.

Here is a comparison between the two bottoms, Craven on the left and OEM on the right. Craven definitely feels more substantial, and I wish it include the aligning notch as the OEM has, but I'll just eyeball the centering.

    That looks about right.

Done. The brown is a nowhere near a match to the trim surrounding the shift boot, but I think it is better than black. I can always replace it down the road if need be.

I manipulated the shift stick in the parking lot and it feels so much better not to have plastic in my palm. The added weight might help, but I am not sure I'll be too keen to the advantage until I am driving the thing.

    Thanks again!

Madness sells them for the Dart and the Fiat. Not sure if Fiat has the reverse lockout, but the Dart knob led me to the manufacturers website.

    Looks nice!

I have a Momo Nero Shift knob off of Amazon and it was made for the reverse lockout. The MOMO is all vinyl and plastick-y (the aluminum one was out of stock), but it is nowhere near as slippery as the oem shift knob when it is cold. I know that Twisted Shifterz sells an adapter for "late model Dodge Dart 6spd", but you have to buy the adapter and a shift knob, they won't let you buy just the adapter. But that adapter will let you use just about any other shift knob they have. Maybe as a birthday present I will get something a little more unique.

I wonder if the either the dodge or fiat short throw sifters will work in the Jeep? I may have to take the shift knob out one day to see what it all looks like...

Man , it went in like a glove:):)
Really like it its nice and solid/heavier too, it shifts smoother, was worth upgrading it,
Im still wondering why don't they say its for the Renegade too.? Hope the community learns of this

Thank you for posting this! I'm working on replacing the shift knob, but I'm having some issues. I removed the cap and the 10mm bolt. I just can't pull the knob off. It feels like it is glued on. I'm afraid to pull too hard. Did anyone have this issue or does anyone have advice?

After some creative thinking and a slight modification, I was able to change my shifter.

Hi guys! I’m trying to change my shift knob too, I got the little top off and the little screw in the middle. My question is, do I only have to yank it out in order to remove it?

I'm having the same issue as you and Pilotnate25. I removed the shifter cap and the 10mm bolt. But the stupid knob feels stuck on. I tried banging on it and heating it a bit with a lighter. Nothing so far has worked. It is below freezing right now, so maybe that's part of it. Anyone else have a stuck one that they resolved?

Okay, replying to my own message because I figured it out. It is not glued, just on there really tight. I ended up putting a pipe wrench under the knob and then tapping upwards on it with a rubber mallet. That popped it right off! Now I've got a Momo Race Airleather shifter.
