2" Lift kit on the way, I am ordering 255 55 18 KO2's, and I am trying really hard to figure out what size rims/wheels to get. Anybody Know If 18x9 Will Work with a 0 or -12 offset? Can add 1.25 - 2' spacers if I need to also. Just trying to not throw money away on anything if I don't have to. Please Help Me If You Can!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's about 1/16 of an inch under the strut plate in the front. The rear has about 1/2 in clearance. My rims have a +42 offset and 5.7" backspace just for reference. Front: Rear:
I also heard someone mention something about the more you push the tire out the quicker it starts rubbing. Could someone explain that to me.
So we know that 215/65 17, 225 65 17, 225/70 16 all seem to fit. My thing is in a Jeep on the trails you want ground clearance and you get that by the size for the tire. Not the lift on your car or the width of the tire, it's the height of the tires. First number gives how wide the tire is (215 or 225), the second give height (65 or 70), the last number give the diameter of the Wheel (rim size like 15, 16, 17 or 18) A lift is only done to give the vehicle height from the axles to clear larger tires so as to get more clearance from the ground. The tire's height raises the axles off the ground, not the lift itself. My question is which tires fit that actually give more clearance? Many place juggle the numbers around to keep a basic same ratio of the original size designed on the vehicle. I see many changing the width but that just seem to make things wider. Has anyone try a tire size like 225/70 17, 225/75 17 or 225/75 16? These would give a little more height. Really would like to know info if any of these would work and their fit in the vehicle wheel well and whatever was done to overcome the space available.
That is true for body on frame vehicles, Renegade is a unibody & the lifts available for it lift the unibody above the struts which does give you actual usable additional clearance. These lifts do put stress on the CV joints as the angles are increased. The AVID 1.5" lift clearance at the rear PTU is 1.5" plus whatever taller tires gives you. They said that they tested the CV with the increase in angle & is good for 100K. I have the Teraflex lift with 225-70-16 tires and have 10" of clearance at my PTU. Those tires are only .4" taller than stock. Before the lift I had 9"
Will a 2" lifted sport 4x4 with a 1.5" adapter/spacer fit with a 18x8 +38 wheel??? Going to have a 255 55 18 Ko2 tire on it. Please Help.
Looks great- Is your vehicle a TrailHawk or Non Trailhawk model? I am open to getting new wheels vs lift/spacers.
