Flat towed my Bug to my mechanic yesterday. It's too low to tow with a bar, and even hard to get on a flatbed tow truck. It was fun! Weird sensation to be in the car, steering and braking...but not using the gas or shifter. We shortened the rope a bit after the picture was taken.
I've seen that view out of the bug in the second photo many times, I miss it. Had a 59 black with vinyl sunroof, followed by a 66 and then a 70. The 59 was the best vehicle I ever had, was destroyed by a US Mail truck that lost it's brakes and wound up on top of the VW. That happened while I was overseas in the AF.
The first time I used mine I saw a trouble call on a local page and went out to help and the guy says "where's the other rig? You're pulling me out with that? His buddy laughed and videoed while I pulled a lifted XJ on 33s through a ditch and up a hill onto the road. FUN!
