I might leave the other side off I think it looks better on the right side only I can always add the left bracket at anytime if I feel like it
That looks good I may have to "steal" your idea and do the same. I was going to mount them flat on my gear basket but was worried they might leak so this is a way better idea. What size can did you go with out of curiosity?
I went with the 2 gallon ones. I am going to have to get a new set of hatch struts the factory ones will not hold up hatch with the can on even when can is empty
I should be able to get a stronger set from liftsupportsdepot.com I have used them in the past for other projects
Just talked to liftsupportsdepot got a new set of stronger supports coming will test them out when I get them if they work I will post up the part numbers. I wonder if anyone else who has installed camcan mounts has had issues with the hatch not staying open
I took the stock trail hawk bumper and welded in a 2" receiver. I use it for my basket when I go camping and my dirt bike carrier. I weld a lot of stuff at work and home so I was comfortable doing it. I don't plan on towing with it but I have tested it out in my yard with my 19' travel trailer tongue weight was definitely over the max for the renegade but my setup didn't move a millimeter.
No problem I really didn't want to get an aftermarket hitch they hang super low, and I didn't want to spend 500.00 from renegade ready just to carry some camping gear
