2016 Latitude at stock height. Raceline Shift 17x8 35mm offset Cooper Discoverer 235/60 17 1" hub centric spacers (rubs pinch seem) With these wheels you will need at least 1/4" spacers to clear the front calipers. With 1" spacers they rub slightly on the pinch seem at full lock. I'm going to try 1/2" spacers as they will definitely clear the caliper and I think the pinch seem as well. I will update when I have a chance to change them out.
So it turns out the rubbing is only when there is some compression on the suspension. Its fine on flat ground. So I'm leaving the 1" spacers and going with the pinch seem mod instead.
I just had my KO2 225/70R16's mounted; 2017 1.4T Sport, stock 16" steel wheels, no lift, no spacers. There's no rubbing, it's a perfect fit. The tire howl is a bit higher than what I anticipated, but they drive great and look much better than the stock Pirelli's. I need to go and find some dirt now, I suspect the improvement will be huge!
Finally new tires for my Trailhawk and I may have been a little optimistic about how large a tire my Renny can fit. It has a Teraflex 1.5" lift and 1.25" wheel spacers with stock 17 inch wheels. The tires are the "ever-so-popular" BF Goodrich KO2's in 255-65/R17... which makes the tire 30.1 inches tall and 10 inches wide. The standard pinch seam mod was not enough. I had to remove a lot more metal along with some of the side skirt bracket and also remove the Trailhawk rock sliders. These tires clear the front spring perch by 1/16" and the rear by an 1/8". The road noise is no louder than the stock Falken Wildpeaks and MPG seems to be about the same. I still get a tiny bit of rub when bouncing around a right turn but I think this is acceptable given the amazing improvement in performance.
If you add the Eibach spring lift you'll eliminate the rubbing all together, I run with a couple of guys here in Vegas with that set up on 30" tires and they're not getting any rubbing. They both have Desert Hawks with the stock Mopar rock slider still installed. You rig looks sharp!
I tried getting my KO2s size 225/65r17 installed on my trailhawk. The guy installing them said he wouldn’t be able to put them on. He said the tires would get torn up by the rear pinch welds. Also that they would rub in the wheel well since they are a more aggressive tire.
A lot of people have these installed in their Renegades, all models, with no problems. Maybe try another installer to see what they say.
sounds to me like they just don't want to do it. unfortunately that happens a LOT with trying to get mods done on the Renegades, most places will just flat out refuse.
