Jimmy we're having the 1.5 installed today. Wish us luck. We will tell our mechanic to trim the lip above the cv on the front. Also, our kit came with camber bolts, charcoal relocation brackets, everything super clean and beefy. Excited!!

When your mechanic has the front fender liners off they'll see the corner of the pinch seam that will need to be trimmed to accommodate spacers or a 29" tire.

Hey can you guys post total time for your avid lift install? Specifically for the 1.5 kit? Hoping our mechanic is keeping pace.

Hey Jimmy how much clearence did you gain with the back tires? It looks as though our back tires shifted a bit forward. Is there a way to correct that? Are we imagining things? I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on this. Also, how long did the 1.5 install take? Please let us know!

The rear wheels do look forward but it might just be the angle of the photo. Your photo looks to be centered more on the front wheels, can you take a side view picture of just the rear? The difference in height is amazing considering is it a 1.5" lift. How long was your install and did you get an alignment done? Looking good!!

Actually my fiancee measured, from tire to rear of fender wall its 2 5/8 and from front of tire to fender wall is 2 1/2 inches. It's off by 1/8 inch. We think proper alignment will sove that. His mechanic charged him 6 hours. Yeh, we know, way too long.

Is there a way to adjust the rear caster angle on our toasters? I'd like to move the rear tires back towards the rear bumper. Is this possible? Alignment will be done o ce tires are bought, within a week.

Great info in this thread (yes, I read it all).

Based on looking at the photos for the 2.0,2.5 kits and then reading their descriptions; is it safe to say you get the 1.5 lift in the rear before pushing down everything another .5 or 1.0 inches with the other spacers (rear only, front isn't my concern). So you gain 1.5 inches of total clearance, plus the room for bigger tires where you then get another .5 inch of clearance with a small body lift?

I would just do the 1.5, but I think it may be pushing things with the springs as well (pinging AVID to see if they are going to do springs soon, otherwise would look at the 2" ones which is why I think I need the 2.0 or 2.5 kit before that big of a spring install)

    Thoughts?

When you install any of the lift kits (ATP, Avid, Daystar or Terraflex) you'll get the 1.5, 2 or 2 5 inches as they lift the body above the struts giving a lift equal to the spacer width. The spring component is where the variance will come based on the model (2wd, 4x4 and Trailhawk have different suspensions). I know several owners who have lifts and lift springs with no issues, I myself have had 1.5 lift with 29" tires on my Trailhawk for over a year with lots of rocky offroad miles with no issues.

Did you mod the inner fenders with the 29" tires? We're having a custom shop install on Saturday. 235 65 on stock TH rims.

Hey Jimmy do you have any extra weight up front? Bullbar, winch, etc?

Well. You get the 1.5 from the lift and additional. 5 from the tires. From a 28 inch tire to a 29 equals a net gain of .5 and with the 1.5 kit its an overall gain of 2 inches. 8.7 ground clearance to 10.7.

Thanks, good info. I am still trying to figure out if getting the 2" Springs with just the Avid 1.5 kit is a good idea or if the extra strain (on the rear) of the 2" springs would be better handled with the 2.0 or 2.5 kit where it appears some of the rear end components and exhaust are also pushed down from the body a little (giving you more room for tires, but not really much of a ground clearance gain)

So I am assuming with the 2.0 and 2.5 kits you still only get the 1.5 inches of ground clearance, but maybe allows for more than .5 inch upgrade to tire size due to the .5 to 1 inch the kit gives you by pushing the back exhaust, brake lines and etc. down to give more space between the hub and the body of the car. (body lift seems to be part of the Rear lift on the Avid 2.0 and 2.5 kits, while the front is a suspension lift for the full 2.0 or 2.5).

I am trying to clarify, because very early in this thread - probably 2 years ago now, there was a discussion about how the Daystar 1.5 kit merely pushed things down with spacers on the exhaust etc., while the Avid 1.5 kit actually lifted the suspension. Then the Avid 2.0 kit and 2.5 kits came out later, but those users seem to have since left the forum.

I know, maybe I shouldn't dig up the past ;-) LOL

Well, we had the 1.5 inch kit installed. It pushes the body up and doesn't drop anything down. I've seen plenty of guys do an eibach pro lift spring with the 1.5 kit with good results. Jimmy's friend ogjeep has that setup and I believe there's no issues at all. Now, going with a 2" spring with the 1.5 lift.. I have no idea. You may be alright, but I'd talk to some guys who build these things. You should be okay with the eibach. I think we will do that too, eventually.

    Waiting begins... :)

I have the ATP 2" lift and 2" springs and have been driving the hell out of it for the past year and 20,000 odd miles, both on an off road, I have had zero suspension issues thus far.
