Also installed 1.5” wheel spacers with 16” sport wheels and Falken Wildpeak AT3’s in 245/75-16’s. Tire states its a 31x10. Most this size measure out to 30.5 by 9.7. Anyhow, just wanna let people know that it is a huge difference. Yes i had to cut bottom lip off my struts or they would have contacted the front CV shaft. I also had to cut away a good bit of pinch weld in front on both sides. Also couldnt reuse my factory drive shaft skid plate without trying to extend the bolts. Also got rid of my factory rock sliders. Havent done the alignment yet however i can already tell ima need to pull the camber in more negative and even then it still is gonna be a tad flat or just a touch positive. Just wanna say the Avid kit is very very well made. All the guys in the shop complemented me on the kit ( yes were a bunch of Porsche techs so that says something). This is definitely the largest tire you can run without some serious clearancing especially if you want some flex. Notice the star graphic by my head in the before and after and that gives you an idea on how much it lifted from factory height.

    THIS IS AWESOME!!

I’m thinking of doing EITHER the avid 2.0 or the Eibachs on my 2k16 TH.
Which one would you suggest to do first.

Also, people say the avid 2 is a HUGE pain to put on compared to any other 1.5s because you have to lower the subframe. Did you find it difficult?

For simplicity if your just wanting some extra lift just do the springs. Will give your entire Jeep more clearance vs the spacer lift by itself. The spacer lift wasnt hard to install but was a bit more work than just doing springs. Just remember it was myself and another 15 year tech with a proper lift, airtools and anything we could need to work on a car and it still took us about 5 hours to install springs and spacer lift and make necessary cuts on struts and pinch welds. I feel sorry for the guys doing this in there driveway!! There very dedicated souls. Lol If your doing this on jackstands in driveway just do the springs first and see how you like that. If your going to do the spacer lift.......make friends with a shop so you can actually get the car in the air so you can have room to get under and drop rear subframe.

Looks great! How did you like installing those rear strut spacers? That was the only issue I had installing my 1.5" lift, was just too hard to get in there to tighten them. I ended up having to go get a metric crowfoot set to use as it was the only thing I could fit.

Feeling any wobble during acceleration? I had some right after I installed it but it got better after the alignment. Still feel it a little bit between 10-20 mph then everything feels smooth again.

Been two weeks since my install so the TH springs have settled and I am going to get under it this weekend and make sure everything is still torqued up.

The rear strut spacers were a pain. We swapped the bolts though to help. We used the ones they provided to secure the spacer to the jeep and then used factory bolts to secure strut to spacer. That gave us more clearance for tools to tighten. Dont know about wobble or anything. Could only pull it outside because we have to cut a little more of pinchweld then perform alignment. Doing that tonite. Excited to drive it. Everyone at work cant believe the difference now. They keep saying “ now its a real jeep” Lol

Did you say you removed your factory rock sliders ? Are you planning on going with aftermarket ? And if so, can I buy your factory ones !

What is the benefit of installing a lift vs just doing the springs? I know you did both plus the spacers to get the extra height and extra room for the large wheels/tires. I have been thinking about getting a lift to get extra height for driving the beach when fishing. After reading your post I am wondering if I should do springs instead? Do you think it would be easier finding a shop to do just the springs? Your Renegade looks great by the way. Can't wait for a driving report. Thanks.

If your looking for some extra clearance just do the springs. Much easier and a tad cheaper. The Avid lift does raise the suspension 2 inches however it also drops the rear subframe back down 2 inches to help with alignment angles. So i recommend you do springs if you want some extra riding height to get through the ruts in deep sand. I also wanted to stuff some larger tires under the Jeep so i needed every bit of clearance I could get, thats why i did both lifts. Hoping in the future someone creates a 6 inch long arm lift cause im only about an inch or an inch and a half away from being able to run 32’s comfortably. It would also be nice if some smarty pants could figure out how to get the transfer case from the cherokee that runs the 2.4L to mate to our drivetrain!! I love these little renegades. Jeep almost hit the nail square on the head they just missed a few small marks.

Yes i took off the rock sliders. It takes away from the height soooo bad. Makes the jeep look 3 inches shorter on the side. Plus, ima sand and light trail guy. No boulders here in the Carolinas to bash on. Lol. And yes.....you are more than welcome to come get my sliders. There prolly the nicest ones you can get for the renegade. Mopar did a hell of a job with them. Solid as hell and look great if you need them.

Just some updated pics after driving for a couple days. Jeep drives awesome. Steering is more like a wrangler now though, a tad heavy. Thats to be expected with a larger heavier tire. Alignment was a pain in the rear. Finally able to bring it all in the green. Wasnt ideal however it is in Jeep spec. Just cant believe how good it still rides and behaves on the road. Need to trim a little of my front fender flares at the bottom corner. They rub under cornering load at a certain angle. Taking it to Kure/Carolina beach next weekend to give it its first test in the sand. I told my dad that if it gets stuck and its not due to my ignorance im trading it in on a wrangler. ( Was just kidden but will give it serious thought ) Lol Thats my son in the last picture. Hes 3. Just like to add frame of reference, and he really loves taking pictures!!

lol, not so must the star as a reference; you went from being taller than the Jeep to Not-So-Much...

    Looks good.

I wish this had been out before I did mine 1+ year ago on Jack stands in my drive way (laughed when I read that). It literally took me 2 whole days putting my Daystar on and it physically kicked my butt and was anything but smooth, transaxle popping out, etc. Your Renegade looks great. Maybe I'll eventually put springs on but have other mods I'd like to do first. Thanks for sharing!!!

Are those the Eibach 369-E30510180122 springs? I keep seeing two different numbers on various tech forums...

Soooo, I installed my Avid 1.5” lift. Wasn’t too painful but I have limited tools and did it in my carport, so it took like 6 hours by myself. I loved it for about 3 days, I’ve been off-roading and mudding in places I wouldn’t have daydreamed about before. Now I look at Hulk and say, u need 2 more inches of lift and that would really do it for me, but I really don’t want to swap lift kits already. I want to just do the Eibach springs, but Anthony at Avid said he’s heard mixed reports about whether they’ll work with the 1.5” lift or not. Can anybody confirm that it’s a go or no-go? I want to get it done before July. BTW, it’s a Sport model, if that matters.

I can't see any reason that they wouldn't work with the 1.5" lift. I did a Trailhawk spring swap with my Sport and it is riding just fine. The springs are a suspension lift where the Avid is a spacer lift so as long as the springs fit on the factory struts it should all bolt right back up the same as it is now. There may be a questions of how comfortable the ride would be with that combination but I see no mechanical reason why it would not work.

ya, dont pay attention to the two different numbers, both sets are actually the same springs, the different heights listed are just the different height differences you can expect from trail hawk and non trail-hawk models. Most retailers will have different prices listed for them, but there is literally zero difference, buy the cheaper one and save a few bucks.

there is no reason why they wouldn't work, a lot of people have done the Eibach's with the 1.5" lift. like Pedals, I have a 2" lift with the Eibach springs and everything rides great.

How much lift did u get from the springs? I’ve read 2”-2.5”. Did u just swap your sport springs with TH springs? or you get the Eibach ones?

I got about 2.25" overall with TH springs and the Avid 1.5". I just bought the TH springs from a TH owner that did Eibachs on theirs.
