235 65 r17. No rubbing after alignment. Everything green except the rear passenger, it's in the red but by a minimal amount. No cause for concern.

That clunky noise I believe is a sway bar bushing. The rattling while in gear may be the heat shield.

I just installed the 2’ avid lift and now the backend is hard to control. It wants to go everywhere. Do you know what could be causing this?

Anybody upgrade their strut to a b8 5100? It says it will lift an inch.

Hey Jimmy, I see that you're offering up some help when needed, which I may need. I just ordered the Avid 1.5" lift to go with my 225/75 16 Toyo O/C A/T2 and pinch seam mod on my Sport 4x4. I'm thinking about getting the Eibach springs to go with my 1.5" or if I should cancel the 1.5" and get the 2" instead. Any advice, input, suggestions greatly appreciated as I'm brand new to the Toaster mods. I'm trying to take all these threads in but there's a lot of info here. TIA

How did that combination work out? Did you drop the rear subframes leave it alone?

Wookie- did you have to use spring compressors to get the strut assemblies back in? Are you using a spacer with those Raceline wheels? Looks great man.

It is working pretty good so far. Minor noise during first few weeks that seems to be happening less (spring pop sounds mostly).

Yes, the 2.5 kit drops the subframe and driveline in addition to the standard spacers for the Struts.
There was some shudder on hard acceleration when I first got it, but after I took it back for retorque and realignment that seems to be gone or greatly reduced so I haven't ran into it in a few weeks. The new tires also seem to help it drive better, had stock tires for a couple weeks after install of the lift setup.

For what it is worth, the professional shop that did mine had to use spring compressors to get one side back in. They had 2 guys working on it that are strong and do these all the time for other vehicles, but their first Renegade. They called me at first because they wanted to be sure it really was suppose to fit. They figured out to use the compressor to get the passenger side, I believe it was, back in.

Yup, Passenger side front is a pain, With just the 2.5 inch lift I used spring compressors the first time, but when I replaced the outer boot on the CV I found that taking the tie rod end off allowed just enough to get the strut back in without spring compressors, But I don't think there would be anyway to not use them with the spring lift and Avid lift combined...

This is the only issue I am having with my TH springs + 1.5" kit on my Sport, shudders a bit between 10-20 mph. It did get better with the alignment but it is still there a little bit. Not every time though, just feel it in fast acceleration like you said or accelerating through a turn. It has been two weeks since my install though so I will be getting under it this weekend to retorque everything and see how that does. Might take it back up to the shop that did my alignment and ask them to double check it now that the springs have settled and see if it needs tweaking as well.

Do you think the tires may have contributed to the shudder and the new ones may have helped there too? I am still on the 215/65/16s Supermax tires that were on it when I bought it but as soon as they wear out I am going to put 235/70/16 Pirelli Scorpions on.

Thanks. After looking over all the kits again, asking if you used the spacers on the Avid 2.5” was a silly question. I think I’m frying my brain looking at all the choices.
The shudder you and Dexteran are experiencing. I wonder if that’s from the CV’s operating near their maximum angle and when you accelerate hard, the front end lifts-up causing them to bind. Would explain the issue in a turn too. The wheel on the inside of the turn gains clearance as the body rolls to the outside.
I too want to use springs with the Avid 2.5” lift but if the CV’s are binding....

Yes, getting heavier wheels and tires on seemed to help. Also my height has settled down a tad more so that may have helped.
However, now I have more rub on the trim and fender liners than there was originally, because of the settling in after the initial measurements I took about 2 weeks after the lift was installed. It seems to have settled a in a few more mm. That should go away once I get rock sliders on and remove that lower trim piece and push & secure the wheel well liner back more.

That could be an issue. I only have 3000 miles on the setup so far. I put it on at 3800 and got the tires at 4200 and still am at around only 7k miles total. I don't notice the shuddering anymore though with bigger tires and 'fully settled in' springs. I don't drive the Jeep very aggressively either, but I do every so often punch it without issues.

Offroad is where I have been the most impressed, I use this to get to work when I don't feel like driving my car that gets better 9 MPG better gas mileage. But really, I wanted something to run around town and go offroading. It is small, compact and fits through the narrowest places without barely a tree limb brushing. It climbs like a mountain goat so far. The extra clearance helps me be dumb and not break things on underneath my car, so I am really happy.

Hey man, What are the dimensions of the tires you are using? Also did you have to do any mods to the body to get them to run with no rubbing on the 1.5in lift with the springs?

Welcome to the forum. I saw one of his posts and he said the tires are 225/70/17.

Thanks. I wonder what brand they are. I am trying to find a good off-road tire that will work well with the AVID 1.5in lift and the same springs he used without needing to do any pinch seam modding if possible. I would be willing to od it if need be tho.

He no longer has his Renegade but I did find a video he did and in the comments he said they are Khumo M/T 51 tires.
