Yesterday I installed the DV+ from Go Fast Bits. Installation wasnt too bad, after figuring out how to get the wiring connector and the one bolt out.
Went real cautious, like i was doing surgery inside a museum, and so far no codes and it seems to be working as it is supposed to.
I must have been losing a ton of boost before, because it feels like a different car. Pulls down low now, doesn't get out of breath while shifting, starts smoother, power delivery is smoothed out and feels like it comes on a little lower in the revs. And when i tromp on it in 3rd and 4th she feels nice and torquey. I know lots of folks have said this but it should have come like this from the factory. Much more driveable and forgiving, and she feels like you can just about put the boots to her properly. Got a Power+ chip and a turbosmart wg actuator coming from Madness so it will be interesting to see what those do.

Planning a clutch delay valve delete in the near future, i figure I can just put a new line in fron the master cylinder to the slave cylinder that is a straight run with no delay valve. I want Valentina to feel like all my other stick shift cars from back in the day!! Then probably an offroad clutch, though the stock clutch seems to be holding out pretty well at nearly 75000 km

Good, I am glad that it feels like a new Jeep for you.

It is always fun to change a little something and feel noticeably results.

    Good Job, thanks for sharing.

I have not switched yet, but I guess I never read in that much detail about how it helps. Thank you for the review, I will bump it up the list of things to buy.

Also what is this "clutch delay valve" you speak of, if you don't mind my asking?

Apparently a CDV is an inline damper valve that delays the actuation of your clutch when you press it or let it off. It was allegedly designed to make the experience of learning to drive a manual more forgiving to the novice (more forgiving to the car too) but it ends up giving the clutch a mushy, indistinct feel, like it starts to grab halfway off the floor instead of crisply and linearly as you raise your foot like an old school clutch.

Updaye: i feel like an idiot, but after complaining to anyone who'd listen over the last 3 years about how the clutch felt wrong and blaming the delay valve, I learned it was only partly to blame. My master cylinder was down by about 3/4 of an inch. Topped er up and she feels a lot better now, but still not what I'm used to.

Maybe not quite a new Jeep but more sporty and Euro, my folks drive a tdi manual jetta and i always loved how that felt, the renegade feels a lot closer to that tight torquey feeling now.
