    Hello Everyone,

Bought my daughter a '16 Latitude just before Wuhan shut the world down and now she wants to do a few mods to it. So far we added the Teraflex 1.5" lift and OEM Compass wheels/tires. Wheels are 17" x 6.5" and the tires are 215/65/17.

After reading a ton, it looks like the Open Country 225/65/17 will fit but I can't get a consensus on whether spacers will be needed. I am leaning towards the Open Country because they only weigh a few pounds more then stock and as much as I like the BF KO2's, I think they are just too heavy and plus I really just want a better tire for winter and a little off-roading.

So, my question is, do I really need spacers or would they just be more for appearance in moving the tires out further? I am not a big fan of them but since reading how the hub centric design works and I won't be going over 25mm I am not as concerned with long term wear and tear as I was before doing the deep dive into the research.

    Thank you in advance,

    Scott

    ... to the forum.

The Toyo Open Country AT III is a very good tire. The 225/65R17 should fit without issue, no spacers required. *65k mileage warranty, $$

... and for the record, the BF KO2 is a GREAT tire for snow and off-road. *50k mileage warranty, $$$

I have that exact tire on my 2021 sport 4x4 with zero rubbing or other issues. No lift or spacers. I'm putting on a lift this weekend but you don't need it for the tires.
