so just let me show you in one of your own pictures what i mean ... if You lift the Renny up about 1,5" your Frontaxle will move in the lower Position ... so the Axle will have to move much more on it´s Flanks and that´s definitly a Problem for them ... same thing happens with the Wrangler if you lift it up 3,5" you got to move the Motor and Transmission down or your Axles and Diff go to Hell ... but anyway let them mount a 1.5" Lift in a Trailhawk and drive it 25000 Miles so we can see what happens to the transmission[IMG]

LOL!! You really do have a hard on for this. So that we're both on the same page, the photo you posted is of a Renegade Trailhawk that is LIFTED 2". In other word, your illustration would apply IF it were lifted 4".

As far as Wranglers go, I don't know a thing about them especially when it comes to lifting them. I will differ to you when it comes to them as clearly, your the expert here :)

Didn´t say that i am an expert ... the photo was just to show what i mean and i didn´t want to crawl under my Renegade for the picture ... by the way ... i asked Jeep Germany about a lift kit and why they don´t bring the lifted they showed at CEMA ... and guess what ... this was the reason they told me why they don´t sell it like this ... it was just for show not for driving ... but anyway lift yours and tell me

Hey Maneater, before you dig yourself in any deeper, let me help clue you in. "Wayoflife (yes, the administrator) not only runs the Toasterjeep.com forum, he also runs the wayalife.com Wrangler forum. He teaches more people about lifts than your so called expert. If you look at his stable of Jeeps, you will see he knows a thing or two about lifting Jeeps. Better you just sit back and learn instead of making yourself out the fool. Do you have your own six bay Jeep garage, complete with a lift?

its not over Wrangler its for BU´s Renegades and the Reason why they don´t offer Lift Kits from Jeep like the one showed at SEMA was (told by Jeep Germany) they tried, but figured out Problems with the Axles and ESP so they don´t offer Lift Kits more than the Trailhawk already has ... so over here in europe we need the OK of the manufacturer of the Car or the manufacturer of the Part has an ABE for the Parts we mount in the Cars or they get illegal ...

with a Jeep like the Wrangler which has no Unibody you sure can go much higher ... so when u guess u can lift the BU then lift it, test it and i sure will confront Jeep Germany with your effort ...

How cute, you talked to your dealership about why they don't sell lift kits for your Jeep. Clearly, they must be the absolute authority as to what can and can't be done LOL!!

Funny, I could have sworn that I said I would be doing just that.

Odd, I could have sworn you had just tried telling me what you can and can't do with a Wrangler and why like you were some kind of an authority on the matter.

To be clear, the key word here is "they". Why "they" don't offer lift kits more than what the Trailhawk already has.

I am not in Europe and here in America, we don't need any OK from the manufacturer to modify our vehicles to make them perform "better".

Since you don't seem to know, the old Jeep XJ Cherokee had a unibody as well.

Nope ... i didn´t ask my Dealership ... i asked at Jeep Germany wether they will sell the Lift Kit the SEMA shown Jeep has ...
    so back to topic ...

as far as i understand the way they lift it they put spacers between the top of the spring and lift it up by lenghten the original shocks out ... so you get Height by giving up working way of the shocks?

The only Lift Kit i found over here and they only offer for "Normal" Renegades (tested with a german VIN of a Trailhawk) didn´t find another Manufactorer who offers spacers with longer shocks with Papers for TÜV we got to show up every 2 Years to licence and insurence as well ...

I know working ocars is much easier in the US ... but i live over here and have to obey Rights ... also english isn´t my Mother tongue so you perhaps read things different as i meant ...

So Smartass why just explain it to me how the Lift Kit works instead pecking around?
    So just go on ...

so just to show you again what i mean ... simply go on the Manufactorers Page and type in the measures you can take from your car ... don´t worry it is that simple especially you can handle it ...

Here is how they lift the Rascal by mounting Spacers on Top of the Springs, if Daystate lifts it Budget wise they will do it similar ... so as far as the Renegade don´t gain weight the spring is compressed as it was before Installation of spacers und the extra Lift is done by rebound of the shock absorber ...

so when i compare my unlifted Limitied to the Picture oft the Blue Trailhawk at SEMA with the Lift my drive shaft is standing nearly horizontal, but the drive shaft of the SEMA Renegade (sorry i don´t have the Pic without the 2 Red Lines anymore) definitely points downwards ...

So just compare those two Pictures i made for you ... sorry it is in German, but the english Version doesn´t work correct you have to type your measures in mm not in inches to get the right calculation ...

So the clue of this is that (as i wrote before)
if you put on 1 Spaccer with Rubber you will gain 12 mm but you will have a remaining spring Travel of 238 mm (before you had 250 mm)
if you put on 4 Spaccer with Rubber you will gain 60 mm or 2.36" but you will a remaining spring Travel of 190 mm (before you had 250 mm)
So your Renegade will lift his Leg 2.36" earlier because you give up Spring Travel to Lift or not?
Or is the Manufactorer Spaccer wrong and can´t calculate?

So go check it on http://www.spaccer.com/en_US/

by the way the Price is heavy ... they call this for maximum Lift of 2.36"

LOL!! In all the years I have been playing with Jeeps, I can't say that I have ever met anyone more determined to tell people what can't be done. Maybe it's just a Renegade thing and unfortunately, the kind of people it attracts but really, I have to say that it's a shame you own a Jeep. If guys like you had it your way, every Jeep would be pathetic, small and limited to what your narrow vision would allow you to do.

By the way, since you don't seem to know this, Mopar DOES NOT make any lift kits and they never have. In fact, they don't make most of their performance parts - they relabel what other manufactures have made. For the Wrangler, the current lift kits they offer are in fact made by TeraFlex and before that, were made by Rubicon Express. If Mopar ever starts selling a lift for the Renegade, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it were made by a company like Daystar. You know, the one that you're so convinced that won't work.

I'm sure you'll keep coming back with more lame reasons why nobody should ever try to modify their Jeeps and really, if it gives you meaning and purposes in life, knock yourself out. For me, I'm done with closed minded people like you. :)

So just for the Point ... don´t tell me things i didn´t tell write ... i just wrote that i have asked at Jeep Germany (and not at my Dealer ... smartass) why they don´t sell the Renegade as shown on SEMA and i wrote here the expression they answered (remember they claimed Problems with ancle of the drive shafts and ESP so this shown Model was just for show) ... not more i have said

The only Thing i mentioned was, that the companies like spaccer over here sell the "Lift Kits" only for normal Renegades as the Trailhawk has a Lift Kit of about 0.8" ... (that was their Statement why not for Trailhawks)

And yes i do know that Mopar doesn´t make their own Lift Kits ... but again this was not the point

LOL!! If you really have faith in what "Jeep Germany" has to say, more power to you. As far as what Jeep goes and what they sell, I should point out that they don't even sell Wranglers like what they show at SEMA. Why? Because they would have issues with things like drive shaft "angles" (not "ancles") and ESP among other things. But, in spite of that, thousands upon thousands of people here in America lift their Wranglers anyway and figure out ways to get around the problems that Jeep isn't able to or willing to figure out. Imagine that!

So wonderful, believe whatever it is they have to say and hold it as some kind of doctrine of truth like the closed minded guy that you are. The rest of us like to experiment and look forward to challenges to find out how to make things work.

No, you're point is just go on and on and on about how lifting a Trailhawk can't be done. Honestly, we all got that a long time ago but clearly, you're on some kind of mission and just won't let go of the fact that we don't care what you've been told.

So just show how Daystate "Lifts" your Trailhawk mount it and we will see ... the way Jeep lifted the Renegade at SEMA for show is just putting some Spacers in or get some longer springs to get enough room for Bigger Tires.

The so called "Lift Kit" from Spaccer is just the same as we Lifted cars in the 1970-80 ies Redneck Style ... making Holes in Hockey Pucks and used them for Spacers to lift up junk cars to go Offroad .

Fact is th TÜV Paper Spaccer claims is just crap, the officers had the same laugh as i had and said that with this it is not possible to legalize a Lift over here.

The Renegade has independant suspension for each wheel and to drive stable you just have to do a Bit more that just lift it by putting spacers on the spring ... so lets wait how Daystar will manage that "Budget Lift", see it mount it und feel how the Renegade will do on Road

I would bet it is a spacer that goes between the top of the strut and the body mount.

Just like the leveling kits that are used on thousands of trucks.

Ummm, the so called "hocky puck" lifts that people did back in the 70's and 80's was a "body lift" you moron. Being that most vehicles were running leaf springs, it was a quick, easy and cheap way to lift a body on frame vehicle back then. A "coil spacer" or strut spacers is in fact a true lift as it is added to the "suspension" and physically lifts the entire vehicle instead of just the frame and is far from the same thing.

Honestly, just go away. You're welcome here has been overstayed.

And, there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, it is something that Daystar is known for making and has been doing for years.
