The article below was written by David Zata and published on AllPar and at least according to him, there won't be a whole lot of wiggle room when it comes to the price of a new Jeep Renegade. See article below... What do Dealers Pay for Renegades? The Jeep Renegade Trailhawk sells for $25,995, list. So what do dealers pay? According to our sources, the dealers pay $25,141, for the base four-cylinder model with the nine-speed automatic and no options. Each option adds a little profit, in some cases as small as $16 (remote start), in others up to $120 (navigation/satellite radio). For the most part, these are not high-markup vehicles. While car dealers also get other discounts, including a “holdback” which can be higher than the apparent built-in profit, they also have high expenses, including staff, property taxes, car preparation (cleaning, removal of packing material, basic checking, etc.), building leases in many cases, plant upkeep, insurance, and interest on loans for cars purchased on credit. Dealers do not make any money on the $995 “destination charge.” (As far as we know, customers cannot pick up their cars at the factory to avoid this fee.) Those fortunate enough to have a “friends and family” number given to them by an employee can get a lower price, bringing the cost down to roughly the dealer’s nominal cost before holdbacks and any other incentives. Given the short supply of Renegades, that is likely to be the only way to get a significant discount — as haggling generally doesn’t work well with cars that have a stronger demand than supply. http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php/2015/02/what-do-dealers-pay-for-renegades
I was reluctant to do the Tread Lightly thing but, may end up doing it just for the discount. It might be worth it.
I got £2000 off in the uk. £1000 from jeep as a contribution and £1000 from fiat for joining 'British Cycling' but then I guess we pay a lot more than you in the first place
I just purchased my Trailhawk through the USAA car buying service and was only able to get $500 off MSRP. Wife wanted an Anvil so we had to have it shipped from another dealer so they would not budge on price.
Same for me. I tried my hardest to negotiate a lower price. At the end of the day I got a few discounts on the extended warranty.
I feel like I did OK, $22,100 total purchase price after incentives for a 4x2 1.4 Latitude with the options and color I wanted. That's very close to the unspoken target price I had in mind when I walked in. The dealer worked with me on the value of my trade-in in order to establish some wiggle room.
I paid $20,365 out the door tax/title/lisence everything for a sport with 2.4 and 4x4 and power group through USAA. I was pretty happy with the experience.
You can check out the RenegAde pricing from my dealer in Clearwater, Florida, it's daytonandrews.net, he has 33 - 2015's in stock, about $2500 below list price to start with, one of the lowest pricing I came across when I shopped around.
I ended up getting $2K off using TrueCar which I got as a benefit of being a driver for Lyft on the side.
I paid $20300 for my 4x4 sport 9spd. I bargained like crazy to get $2000 of sticker then after they approved that I told them I was military and they had to take another $500 off [emoji4]. I still don't know if I overpaid or not but It was worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
