Smittybilt aluminum rack with homemade mounts to the factory rails. It's big and howls in the wind, but I only use it when I'm actually hauling stuff.
This is the system ( Yakima load warrior) I am moving forward for my not yet delivered Renny.... Are you having problems with using the MySky?
I do not have MySky on my Renny but the rack definitely sits up high. Whether or not enough to take off the panels I cannot give a definite answer.
Roof racks serve a valuable need, when needed, but how often are they really used ? When I had my Ram 1500 with a Cap and still needing to haul gear on an extended fish/camp trip opted for a Hitch basket . I use the back as my "hard sided tent". Much less drag, less hight & also had many other useful functions (eliminating need for other gear such as table) . Stowaway2.com is a company just south of Portland, Oregon . If you get the one I had, with the Basket (not the cargo box) with the hinged frame, it swings away from the back for tailgate/liftgate rear access ! Of course it requires a class 3 or 4 hitch, not sure whether the Renny TH offers a class 3 !? Guess I should look into that too . Regardless of which Jeep I get this year (MY16 or '17) it will have the Factory Hitch install . What I also like about this over a roof rack is that it is easily removable, unlike many roof racks . I've seen some of the Gobi's on Cherokee & G.C. where the Rails have been removed & the Gobi's installed in an OEM fashion (permanent almost) .
