I ended up going with a different bulb that is Renegade specific. I can provide you the link if you want. My guess is the leds drawn at a lower threshold than the standard bulbs and therefore the constant power to the harness causes them to stay on whereas on a halogen it is not enough of a current to cause the bulb to be on.
I see. Yeah that link would be great! Thanks. So do you suppose a higher wattage LED would eliminate the issue as well?
Ohh ok I was thinking you decided on a different style bulb entirely. I saw these when browsing for different DRL's and considered getting some. How do you like them? Are they super bright/too bright? That was my concern when I first saw these. Thanks for the link!
I haven't gotten them yet. Should be here tomorrow. Should be able to install them tomorrow or Wednesday
Here are two pictures installed. Did it this morning before work. They look pretty nice. They do flicker on camera but it is not perceptible to the human eye. No error codes yet.
Sweet! I think I'll go ahead and order the ones you have then. So they turn off when the car is off then? Thanks for the pics!
I picked up the same lights as you guys but it seem like the high bean and low beam are reversed. The throw a lot of light maybe to much. Did you have problems like this?
With the headlights? Yes I too feel like they are off somehow considering they do appear to be shooting light everywhere. I've tried repositioning them many times but can't tell if I've got them in the right place or not.
They aren't working right and a few things i noticed on the led h13 main lights that aluminum piece on the top is loose and looks like it will rattle loose over time. I'm also getting the fog staying on. I'm sending all the bulbs back and may look at the PIAA LED bulb and trying to retrofit an aftermarket fog in the housing hole. I could tell there were a lot of pissed of people last night when i tested the bulbs for the first time. I'm hoping PIAAA designed there bulb to mimic a true h13 and the low/high beams will work correct.
Only thing I've noticed is between my low and high beams there isn't much of a difference. I run all leds up front at night, fogs, drls, and headlights, and I haven't been flashed at all. If the problem is angling there is a way to adjust the left/right and up/down. I found a Youtube video that I can link if people want to try that.
Yeah I haven't gotten any flashes from people yet either. That link would be great! I feel its just a matter of getting them in the right position
I just ordered some of those. I just couldn't stand it. They said I'd have to wait for 5 weeks to get them, but hey, that'll give me time to pay for the suckers!
Yeah, he said that was the normal, but they are being flooded with orders. I don't mind waiting Now if Madness would just come out with that sexy bumper guard....
I haven't had luck with any of the suggested led lights for DL or fogs. I talked to my dealer and they said that the module that controls lights sends out a constant low voltage to lights to look for bulb out errors.. This is why it seems the LED lights up. I may put a canbus on the FOGS and revisit the DL by looking for the right bulbs, I did both the ones on eBay and amazon. Eventually will try the PIAA ones.
