    Hi, all.

I've just crossgraded from a 2015 Limited to a 2016 TH with MySky and premium audio and have a couple of questions for you:

    1) how/where do you store the MySky bag given you have a spare in the trunk?

    2) has anyone found a solution to the crap sounding Beats premium audio? I made sure the dealer gave me a full discount for that "upgrade". But still, I'd like to have some decent audio in my car. Thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Carlos

I was told that my sky and spare tires didn't mix. Guess I was lied to and that sucks. As far as the beats audio, I had to play with the tuner settings on the radio and settings on the phone. Seems like playing through Bluetooth gives less than stellar results compared to Sirius and through the cord. I'm not overly impressed either with the beats. I would have definitely rather had a spare tire than that audio "upgrade". Overall though I'm happy with the purchase.

Yeah, the same with mine. But on my Limited, there was a space for it under the bottom trunk cover. Now it sits on top of it and will take away space from bags, etc ...
I guess that's the price for having both MySky and the spare. :S

To be honest with you, I didn't know I had a spare until I tried to store the MySky bag under the bottom cover. I was surprised.

About the Beats audio, it sucks bad! :(
I do have special settings trying to make up for the bad sound. But still, that's just a workaround to a badly implemented sound system. And it takes a lot of the volume away. In case you're interested, these are the settings I have:

    Treble: -90%
    Mid: -80%
    Bass: +100%
    Fader: 75% to the back

Sound is "acceptable" with these settings, with a lot o volume loss though. And it's not even close to the standard audio I had on the Limited.

It really sounds to me that the issue is the amplifier and/or the speakers wiring. The amp's crossover frequencies are all messed up. I did the uconnect upgrade hoping for correction but it didn't fix it.

I'm considering an amp upgrade, but will definitely file a complaint with Jeep.

My TH spare sits under the trunk cover. I think WaL even showed you can put a bigger mud tire down there too.

Thanks I'll try these setting out. I have the 75th anniversary addition and this came with it. It was between that and the batman/superman version. I went with the 75th. Audio definitely should be reworked.

They're just Beats, not by DRE.
And I wouldn't call it an upgrade. It sounds like crap. Stay away from it if you can.

Waste of $, possibly.... Think of adding all the speakers/amp/sub after the fact. Even if its got a bad sound quality, the price you pay aftermarket to the price you pay from the factory, its cheaper to buy the sound package, and add your own speakers than it is to try to add the same with all aftermarket stuff/ labor involved.

I may be biased since I have the 2015 that isn't the Beats package, and just the dash speakers opened up the highs. I am fixing to put a kicker 6.75 sub in my rear area, as that should give me a little more proper bass. Eventually I may swap my front door speakers, but not high on the top of the list.

I keep my volume around 22-27 depending speed, open top, etc. Mine sounds terrific, kinda happy the 2015s sound better :Do_O

That's the thing the 2015s do sound better...much better. Makes you wonder why they changed it.

The new setup was probably cheaper for them... I have a 2015 and mine sounds decent. Still planning on swapping the dash speakers and front door speakers out at some point though.

Do the dash speakers. As soon as possible. Took like 25 minutes, and that was a walk back inside, get a beer break. Lol not really, but its super fast and easy. Makes everything sound less tinny. More mids and highs, great for vocals and guitars. the front bolt does hit the windshield with a low profile socket, careful you dont scratch the dash/windshield up with a microfiber cloth :D

Sweet. I shall do that ASAP. It might take me longer for two beer breaks :) Do you have any speaker recommendations?

We've got the beats stereo, not best but not worse, only real complaint I have is not enough volume.
