It took a lot longer to get our hands on a set of Daystar Rock Sliders for our Jeep Renegade Trailhawk than we would have preferred and we almost decided to get a set made by Rocky Road Outfitters but, after finally getting them in last week and getting them installed, I think it's safe to say that we're both really happy that we waited. These rock sliders are beefy as hell, look totally factory once installed and have a boxed in design with an interior structure that helps to distribute the load caused by a big hit. I have a complete installation write-up coming soon but for now, here are a few pics of what they look like installed on Renny

For comparison sake, this is what it looked like with factory plastic rocker trim.

And, here's what it looks like now with the Daystar Rock Sliders installed.

A shot of the Daystar Rock Slider from underneath to show how it's boxed in, has a smooth bottom and wraps around the ends.

Close up of the rear end of the Daystar Rock Slider to show how it wraps around the pinch seam and fender liner tucks into it for a clean factory look.

Same close up shot only from the front.

    Closer side shot.

This shot shows you what the Daystar Rock slider looks like with the driver side door open.

And this shot shows what it looks like with the rear door open.

    A few overall shots.

Because I've already had people asking about it, yes, you can definitely use a Hi-Lift to raise your Renegade from the Daystar Rock Sliders.

I hope this write-up has been helpful to you. I will be sure to post more pics of our Renegade out on the trail as soon as I can.

Looking forward to mine. That 4-6 week lead time is rough though... Still waiting.

Thanks! They're built more solid that the Renegade they're mounted to. I'm hoping to get out sometime this week to test them out. :D

Like I said, I almost gave up on them but glad that I didn't. I'm really happy with the thought put into these and with how well they're made.

The install came out great! Looks solid! We need to test them out...

By the way...That may be the cleanest undercarriage I've ever seen... ;)

How much would that cost, parts and installation?

The rock sliders cost $699. It took me about 4-5 hours to install and I think that's about what it would take a shop to do as well. Assuming they charge about $100 an hour, you might be looking at about $400-$500 to have them installed for you.

You and me both! Been dying to get out and try harder lines but have been waiting for a set of rocker guards first. Hope to do at least some initial testing this week.

No kidding! This waiting is killing me. Hoping our new Renegade shows up this week. Then we'll have to plan a trip soon.

If you haven't sold them already, I'm still interested in your Trailhawk wheels and tires.

Sounds like a plan! Keep us posted :)

Regarding the wheels/tires, if you really want them, they're yours.

It's a great looking mod. I always enjoy the write ups...However, that price point might be hard to convince my wife I need it!

Clean install... I'm still on the fence about the Rocky super sliders though

The price may seem steep but for what you get, I think it's a fair one. Certainly, there's so little demand for Renegade parts that the R&D cost needs to be made up somewhere. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Sorry, no video but I did take a lot of photos and will be posting up a detailed write-up in the next day or two.

They have a nice setup too and I did consider getting it. That being said, I'm glad that I waited as I personally think the Daystar rock sliders have a more complete design and look more factory when all is said and done.

Yeah I'm super happy with my Day Star sliders. They are super beefy and can definitely handle the hi-lift jack. I was surprised by how far under the body it protected as well.

Do they reduce any ground clearance? Is so how much?
