Rocky River was said to be working on a lift of their own, but nothing new heard about it since those rumors.
Who knows honestly, depends on what all is involved in it. Im thinking a good bit more than the ~320 that the DayStar kit can be found for though. From what I understand, the issue is that the 1.5" lift already maxes out the suspension travel of these Renegades, so anything more is an issue without changing a lot of other things as well.
How would that work? The welded pinch seam on the inside of the wheelwells is the only thing really keeping people from running larger tires currently isn't it?
Coming from a wrangler background, you get some rub at full lock going even slightly over stock size, & the tires aren't 'boxed' into the fenders like they are on the renegade. I haven't measured but there doesn't look like a lot of room in those wheel wells to me, especially if you disco the swaybars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I get your point, but I think the pinch seams limit the wheel well opening more than the plastic liners. There are pics on here of what is behind the liners, and there is electronics and other things that are protected by them so that may be why the space is limited in there.
Pinch seem would definitely be a factor either way, I've trimmed a few wranglers to clear bigger tires. I probably depends on which way the wheels move when you lift. Generally they move towards the inside of the vehicle more than the ends. I haven't studied the independent suspension on the Renny enough to know where clearance is needed. Dumping or trimming the front/rear bumpers could be enough along with the pinch seams. Gonna be a while before the wife lets me mod her Renny anyway. I'll just have to stick with wrangler mods for now & see what develops here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hear you. You can look at some pics in Wayalife's sway bar writeup and see how the wheels tuck into the wells on a Renegade, not a whole lot of suspension travel but stuffing them could still cause issues depending on your wheel/tire setup.
I'd definitely say, skid plates. I was contemplating what to do about that, before we got the TH. We were thinking of getting a Latitude, because there aren't many Trailhawks in Central MS.
Id love a three inch suspension lift. A rear bumper thats way higher up w a tire holder on it. Cheaper better rockers.
I'm most interested in the spring perch / strut mod Mel did to run 245/65r17 nittos at stock height with no spacers!
I was thinking that as well... Cheaper < better. And the RRO sliders are cheap compared to the Daystars anyways. And looking for cheap rockers but wanting a 3" lift is also slightly odd, cause that won't ever be cheap lol
Didnt say the lift would be cheap. Id like the mopar rockers i see around. I think the rro ones r ugly but effective probably and the daystar ones dont seem like theyd protect to much. Just more options for the price
You know RRO makes a smaller rock slider that looks VERY similar to the "MOPAR" ones? Check them out, may be just what youre looking for.
