Not a car guy, don't know a whole bunch about vehicles. I recently purchased a used 2016 Jeep renegade with 9k miles...seems like it was a leased vehicle. It's not a 4wd so i assume its an 2wd. It drives kind of rough at low speeds. It seems like it jerks at 5mph and again at 15mph, but after that it's pretty smooth. Also at low speeds, it seems like the are is driving stiff...can't really explain it, just a feeling I get in the gas pedal? A bud Said, it was ok, it's because it's a compact jeep...not sure what to make of it. Could this be something up with the transmission? Are these covered under warranty? Thanks for your help.
Sounds like standard nine speed transmission w renegades. Youll learn how to be smooth with it. Or youll just hate it and be miserable. Go get the latest software updates. They help.
If you are experiencing something like a mis-timed shift that is lurchy when you start going, I'd suggest the dealer and asking them to plug in the OBDII dongle they use to check for updates. I got an update in maybe october 2015 that made that behavior bad. I jsut got a recent update that included software in theory form january 2016 that didn't come up when asked about it in february, but did with an actual scan. Now it shifts much, much more like a normal transmission.
