Hey guys I'm new to the thread and just got my hands on a renegade. I was wondering if I could somehow fit 17x9 wheels on it?

That's a little wide, but it's going to depend on the offset. Assuming they're in the right bolt pattern of course.

Well I was thinking I would assume spacers would be involved. I'm looking to get the atp 2" lift. And spacer/ adapter to change the bolt pattern from the 5x110 to 5x127 so I could fit some xd wheels on it. The offset is 12 I think I dont know that much about wheel offset haven't done my research yet but I would assume with the right spacer/adapter the wheels could fit.

That's actually a pretty good offset for the width, I wouldn't use spacers. XD does make wheels with blank bolt patterns, but they do have a few wheels in 5x110. Check out this site- willtheyfit.com to compare the stock wheels vs. what you're looking to get.

IMO I think you might be better off with a 17x8 - if you run a 17x9 you will want a wider profile tire so it doesn't look funny. Then you will have to trim the pinch seams to prevent rubbing.
