Hey guys, we have a 2020 Renegade Trailhawk and just like all of my other vehicles I can't leave it stock so we went out and bought new wheels and tires. I got them off Craigslist but they are still brand new. They came off of a 2018 Renegade, the guy said he has a 1.5" lift and that's the only mod. I tried to put them on but they rubbed on the spring perch so I put the idea on hold for about a month then last night I did a little more research and found some people trimming their perches so that is what I did. I didn't trim enough as it still rubs slightly, however the biggest issue I'm running into right now is in the rear. It rubbed on the pinch weld bump which I also red about and trimmed, however what I did not expect was the tire rubs on the rear shock and I have maybe 1/16" between the tire and the rear splash guard on the side. The tires are 235/60R18 Hankook Dynapro AT2's mounted on 18x8 KMC Nomad wheels with a +38 offset, 6.00 backspacing and 72.56 center bore. What suggestions do you guys have? I'm not opposed to lifting it, in a few months I want to lift it 2-3 inches anyway but I can bump that time frame up, I just don't see how that will solve the spring perch issue as well and the rear shock issue.
W E L C O M E ! ! ! ... to the forum. Wheel spacer will fix those issues. Do not go larger than 1 inch. Pinch weld modification is a good mod. Cutting your spring perch is NOT a good mod. You never want to reduce the integrity of a spring mount. I am sure (hoping) that you didn't cut too much of it, but a wheel spacer would have been the easy fix.
