So I've been doing a little research on getting a different head unit for the Jeep. I've come across a couple of things that say there's no way to get a simple plug and play aftermarket head unit because of how Uconnect configures with the car? Does anyone know about this? The only posts I could find were from 2015. So I'm not sure if that only applys to that year.

I recently had a Honda Civic and it had apple CarPlay/ android auto. Anyone know if there are any after market head units that work on the renegade with this feature?

You’ll need the maestro rr unit to make it plug and play. You’ll also need the wiring harness ch3x and to keep satellite radio, you need Sat1. All this can be purchased from idatalink.

That's a hit and miss. Some swear by Pioneer, others by Kenwood, none for JVC. Almost everyone would agree on Alpine, but they're pricey.

Just make sure whichever reciever you choose, that it's on the compatibility list at maestro.idatalink.com.
