Who's had both? Prefers what? Why? Cost vs longevity? Noise?

MTs are great in the mud, ruts and rocks. ATs better on the road, sand and hard packed dirt. They both have their pros and cons in the snow. Mud tires are louder from a lot more to just a little. My Swampers sounded like a jet and my X-Terrains were only a little quieter. The 33" Duratracs I run on my Dakota are a high-bred not as good as a Mt in the rough stuff but better than an AT. ATs cost less and last longer. I rotate my MTs more often than recommended. All good tires cost more. This is just my opinion, hope It helps.

Awesome. That's what I gathered from my research too. I dont think I can justify the muds just for the look. I do alot of road driving an like to get the most out of tires with the benefit of offroad dependability. Thanks for the reply
