Okay, last weekend I finally got ambitious and put my audio system, that has been in two other vehicles in some form or another, into the Renegade. If you are in JROG or JRL on facebook then you have already seen this.

This is a complete swap out. New speaker wires (about 75 feet worth!!), speakers, everything, along with a sub in the back.

I did have to purchase a new head unit to work with the iDatalink Maestro system to interface with the Jeep. There is really no avoiding that. I got a Kenwood DDX374BT.

The OEM Uconnect i had was the 3.0 system with the 6 speaker setup in the Jeep.

I have had no errors or any other random FCA silliness once I got everything put back together.

Here is a link with photos and descriptions!

Hope this helps anyone who has been thinking about tackling something like this!

Thanks. Probably not the best way to rewire things. I know there are probably pro installers who are going to see this and groan (speaker wires going to the door! D:), but hey, it works!

Is that seriously how you left your speaker wires?

What would be a "better" way to wire to the doors?

Personally I would have routed the wires either in or with the door Loom. Preferably inside of the Loom but I haven't myself dug into the stereo on the vehicle I'm only speaking of my experiences.

How about tracing the OEM wires used for the stock speakers which are routed through the loom. Then tap into those wires from inside the jeep. that way you can take advantage of the plumbing that's already there. Then on the door connect your new speakers to the oem wire.
