Got a response to some questions I asked the folks at Avid. Thought I’d pass in info along.

“1. On the first production batch (rev. 1) Contour front without the winch installed weighs ~72lbs. Shipping weight is ~82lbs with the box and packaging. The Aluminum version will weigh less however the first production run isn't scheduled for another 8 weeks for so. On the first production batch (rev. 1) Radius front without the winch installed weighs ~65lbs. Shipping weight is ~74lbs with the box and packaging. The Aluminum version will weigh less however the first production run isn't scheduled for another 8 weeks for so.

    2. We didn't change the location of the airbag sensor, it is inside the upper radiator support bracket, so the airbag should deploy as factory setting.”

So the bumpers aren’t too terribly heavy, and they’re going to be making aluminum ones too!

Thanks for the update on the bumper. It is nice that Avid has developed these bumpers, skid plates for the Renegade. I think they will sell a lot of them.

I think the skid plates are integrated in the front bumper.
