    Hey all,
I am trying to configure a spare tire and a hitch bike rack system. The dealer I purchased from was to include a tow hitch and bumper on my renegade as per our negotiation, they didn't and refused to acknowledge I paid for it. Anyway, that was 3 months ago and now I need a tow hitch for a bike rack we got for said tow hitch.

Bike Rack: Yakima Dr. Tray : 2" receiver model

I am wondering if the Avid rear bumper with the tow hitch and tire carrier is a good idea to solve this. The tire on the carrier will be:

    Nitto #N215-470 Terra Grappler G2 245/65/17

I am wondering if these can coexist or if I should should just do the tow hitch and instead put the spare on the roof rack. Or if it will fit in the spare tire compartment. Anyone have them or have a good guess? I am open to other suggestions as well of course. The main thing here is: I have a spare tire to go somewhere. A bike rack. No tow hitch or designated carrier.

I have the Avid rear bumper with spare tire carrier. It is nice that it has a 2 inch receiver built in.

From the receiver to the outside of the spare tire, there is 9 inches. That is with a 245/65R17 BFG KO2 on a 17X7.5 w/30mm offset (The offset really doesn't matter because the carrier has an adjustable tire mount).

a 245/65 is too big to fit in the stock spare tire well. 225/65R17 fits tightly (as big as will fit).

Thanks for the thorough reply! Those pictures are very helpful. I just need to find out how far the first mount for the bike is from the hitch. I figured the tire wouldn't fit in the compartment, glad I asked though. Perhaps it will just live on the roof for now.
