What was your vehicle or your options before you got a Renegade? What trim did you get?

I had a Wrangler Sport. No mods except for aftermarket wheels and tires. Had it for 3 years. Was looking into Mazda CX-3 and Subaru XV and Impreza. The Glacier Metallic Renegade Trailhawk just caught my eyes. Didn't hesitate to trade the Wrangler at all. Although I miss it at times. But Renegade got everything I need and then some.

    What about you?

2013 Mazda CX-5 manual transmission FWD that I had for 6 months before I realized I had made a mistake going away from Jeep. Gas mileage was better than the Renegade, space was larger, but just felt like a car. Stock, no upgrades.

Before that for 3 years I had a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara - black with black leather, dual tops, 33" Mickey Thompson tires, 15" ProComp rims. Didn't need any other upgrades - looked awesome as it was.

Miss the JKU, but will probably pick up a TJ as a fun vehicle in the next 6 months - was a great vehicle and everyone loved it... But was driving too much to keep it as a primary vehicle.

I had a 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo. I'd always wanted a Jeep, so when I saw the Renegade, I thought "why not?"
I love the thing! I'm in the process of putting a lift on it, as well as some Fuel Hostage wheels and BFG KO2's. I have more plans for it, as budget will allow.
I think from this point that I will always be a Jeep owner....

I had a much beloved 2010 Honda Civic "sport" edition. Not an SI, but the "sport" model was the only way to get a black interior in 2010. I loved the car, and miss it a lot. About 6 months after I paid it off I got rear-ended and it was a total loss. The only other vehicle I was really interested in at the time was the Subaru WRX, I went for a test drive and loved it. But after adding up the increased insurance, premium fuel, and much lower gas mileage I just didn't feel comfortable paying that much for one.

Our family has owned several jeeps and had no major issues with any of them, and there was no other small SUV that really made me look twice until I spotted a TrailHawk. After some research and a test drive I ordered one that had the packages I wanted. Other than the mpg not being great(which I can live with), it ticked all the boxes I needed and I don't regret it a bit so far.

I've been a Mazda owner for years. I bought my 2007 Mazda3 and 2003 Mazda6 both brand new. The 3 was 2.5 inches off the ground.

I still loved my 3, but at almost 10 years old it was starting to show its age. I'm driving 30k+ miles a year right now and needed something a little more dependable. I still have my 6, but it has a buyer lined up and will be gone soon.

Unfortunately, we needed to "grow up" and get something a little more reasonable. Lifestyles change, and it was time to move on.

Didn't replace anything to get my Renegade, just added to the collection.

Oh man, I wish I have the funds to do so. I'm definitely getting another Wrangler when I'm done with the Renegade. But I'm not trading it.

Would like to hear more from those coming from a full size SUV. I am currently in a 2015 4Runner (a JKU before that) and am considering the TH Renegade. Just a little concerned about missing the space of the Runner. Thanks!

Honestly you may very well end up missing the extra space if you like what you currently have. I came from a 4dr Civic, and am a little surprised at how tight the Renegade is. Im 6' and there is very little leg room in the back seat for adults, especially if the people up front are taller. The rear hatch is also a little small, especially if you have the full size spare and cant use the under-storage area to pack some things like a roadside kit, etc. For any long or large objects you will definitely need to fold the seats down, so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can talk my dealer into an overnight test drive so I can get it home and try out a bunch of different common to me scenarios.

Hope I'm not interrupting. I came from a 2001 Ford Explorer sport trac. It had 224000 miles on it. It didn't shift right, I could run faster, and the gas tank and running boards rotted off the frame.

Going from that to a brand spanking new jeep is a godsend.

I do miss the size and space of my 02 Xterra, but as my kids are getting older now I don't need the room for them as much. I absolutely LOVE my t-hawk, and as stated above loaned the X to my daughter to drive, it will then be passed to the younger one when her sister goes off to college in Sept. I did however get the hitch on my t-hawk with the thought that I can use a hitch carrier as well as a roof rack to make up for lost interior travel space, as far as adults in the back seat, it is a bit tight, but we haven't gone on any long trips yet, so i am unsure how much bellyaching my late teens will do...I'll keep you posted!!

Hey Volley, where in MD? I spend as much spare time as I can on the Eastern Shore (Assateague Island).

Good information. I don't carry rear passengers often so maybe it won't be an issue. My spouse does use a motorized chair but not all the time. Maybe a hitch mounted carrier would suffice.

FAT KID - I'm on the other side out in Western Md

I thought along the same lines, as I needed the hitch anyway to carry my bike rack. But the more I look into it, a "nice" set of aero bars that wont be loud enough to deafen you + a roof rack is some serious money for something that I personally wont use regularly. For now, i'll just have to settle with folding the seats down for extra space when we travel since we don't have kids to stick in the back yet.

Hey everyone. I have a 2016 Latitude, coming from a 2001 Tahoe. I loved the room in the Tahoe (the front seat felt like a sofa) but I rarely used the full interior. I'm single with no kids so I checked out the Renegade. I love how big it is on the inside. I'm 6'3 & 280 lbs. I'm enjoying the headroom, legroom & especially the 22.6 mpg, especially coming from 9-12 mpg. I wanted the new JKU but my it was too tight in the seat. My shoulder was pressed up against the roll bar. It's good to be back in a Jeep tho. I'm a previous owner of a 1984 CJ7 & a 1990 YJ Sahara.

Same reason I traded my 2012 Wrangler. It was narrow in the leg area. Also, I mostly use it as a daily driver which sucks on gas since it's mostly city driving. Never really realized how rough the ride was on Wranglers until I got my Renegade. Would I go back? Depends on how Wranglers become when I'm all done with my TH.

I had a 99' Jeep Cherokee. I loved it. it was easy to repair.....the issue was it needed repairing all the time. Fuel pump, Death rattle, front seat. the costs were getting a bit out of hand for my taste. With my Purchase of the Renegade i made sure to get the full maintenance plan for 7 years on it. i want to have fun without having to worry about the possibility of huge costs.

I traded my last JK 2dr sport for the renegade. Being a vertically challenged older lady I was having back and hip issues and didn't put 2&2 together until hubby said bet it's climbing into the JK. WE went and drove a TH and ended up walking out with one. Hip pain all but gone go figure. 2016 TH granite Crystal cold weather pkg, w tow pkg auto trans, hard top (no my sky), 6.5 screen w nav and beats audio.

I traded in my 2012 Charger SRT8 Super Bee yesterday for my new 2016 Trailhawk. I will miss it an awful lot, but my wife and I decided to try to start a family and I think a Renegade will be a little more family friendly. Hopefully both work out. Here's a couple pics of the Super Bee after I was done modding it. Screenshot_2016-04-30-20-43-03~2.jpg Screenshot_2016-04-30-20-43-17~2.jpg
