    Hello,
I am repairing my Renegade after a nasty rear collision. My mechanic removed rear suspension parts to replace rear floor pan. When he was removing rear side of the drive shaft he destroyed some cover, which you can see on the attached picture (well, this is actually the place where the cover should be). Can anyone help me find this part number? Or do I need to buy whole shaft?

Another thing is that when I move internal part of the drive shaft (see second attached image) in the following way:
    - push a bit middle part into the drive shaft
    - while pushing, moove it up and down in the vertical axis
I can hear some clicking. Is this normal? How to find out that the drive shaft is ok? Is it dangerous to drive a car and listen to the shaft to find out if everything is ok?

    Thanks in advance,
    Michał

Does the drive shaft click when you press on it or when you're driving? Mine was clicking while driving and the dealership said that the drive shaft bearing was faulty. They replaced it under warranty.

I'd say you can drive it slowly, for short distances if you need to get more info, just be careful.
