I live in NOVA and just popped the hood to add windshield washer fluid when I noticed an excessive amount of road salt in the engine compartment. Anyone else have this problem? any recommendations? Because that can’t be good in the long term
A pressure washer would be a good investment. Or you can try one of the coin operated car washes and choose the rinse wand. Jalopnik did an article about how to keep your important stuff safe when washing the engine bay. https://jalopnik.com/heres-how-to-clean-your-dirty-ass-engine-bay-without-sc-1730839997
be very very careful using a pressure washer in your engine area. all those water tight electrical connections are made for road spray, not the high psi from a pressure washer. your best bet, a refillable spray bottle with vinegar, and a garden hose, use a stiff bristle brush for tough spots
