Hi there. I wanted to take a quick trip out to Gorman tomorrow. I know there is a testing area with a few climbs and logs to crawl over. But I don't know where it is. I was hoping someone who's been there before could give me a general idea where it's at. I was thinking of exiting the 5 frwy at smokey bear rd and doing some of the easy trails there which is near the South entrance. But I have a feeling that testing area is near the North entrance. Any guidance would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Hey. When you pay the entrance fee ask for a free map. They tend to not give one out unless asked now. The map will give you details on easy, medium, and difficult trails, along with other points of interest .

Sorry Phil V...Gorman is a quick 30 from me. I totally would have gone had I seen this sooner.

Ocelotl! As the unofficial leader of the Socal Renegade Comancheros (not a real name but we trade miles for good times)...where and when do we go next to try really really stupid things in our vehicles (but always successfully navigated)?

Additionally, my three cents...with consideration for the new people (of which there seems to be 3-4, a day trip has a better chance of being attended.

..,and yes. I’m totally being a bum by putting this on you, but you are the best guide for newcomers.

Hey [emoji1366]. Thanks for the kind thoughts and the great name (although Roland and I have two other names in mind that we want to tell you about).

No harm at all with the request. Actually, I'm looking forward to really testing out our off-road mettle on our next run.

I had three options in mind that would take us a full day of riding and great times, something Roland and I were discussing on our last run. With either one, we'd trail run and picnic out in the boonies and shoot the [emoji90] for a while before heading home.

It all depends on who's in. I have a tentative date of Saturday October 28 in mind. That'll give us plenty of time to organize and prepare like our Arrowhead trip.

So, who in SoCal is in?

Hi everyone. So I made it out to Gorman on Sunday. It was a very fun adventure for my family and I. Having never been off road before, we stuck to only the green trails. I started at the Northern entrance, and eventually made my way down to the southern entrance. BTW, I found the off road vehicle testing area, which was much closer to the Southern entrance. However, I did not attempt any of the obstacles. I chickend out. I drove over to the hill climb area and was checking out the various options, and saw a wrangler get stuck for a long time. Having never done anything like that, I passed. My wife was also pretty vocal about not doing it this time around. No problem, maybe next time. Regardless, it was fun rolling through the hills and getting off camber in a few spots. It was fun watching my son hold onto the hand rails with a little fear/excitement in his eyes as we made the turn!! I really wanted to take the top off since there was a nice breeze, but there was so much dust I chose not too, but that would have been some fun for sure. I'm really hoping to do this again sometime soon with some fellow Renegade owners showing this noob how to attack a trail!

As for 10/28, I hope I can make it. Please keep me informed on the details.
    Thanks.
