What morons decided that using voice commands during driving are cut off?

Mine is one week old and the voice commands work. Although the Nav system is pretty primitive - goes for the numbered routes instead of the shortest path. I'm going back to Google Maps on my smartphone.

That is probably a function of the settings in your navigation system. If you dig into the system setup choices, you'll find that you can select fastest route, shortest, avoiding toll roads and a number of other criteria. Sounds like yours may be set to a default of some sort.

That being said, the Uconnect navigation software and routing don't seem to be in the same league as Google Maps.

That's good to know, I'll check it out. I'll probably keep using my phone anyway because it accurately estimates arrival times. This one overestimates ETA by up to 50%. Yesterday it informed me I'd be missing my train by 5 minutes, when I was actually 10 minutes early.
