Picking up a 21 80th next week and HAVE to change the tires. Love everything but the tires. I haven't seen anything on 19's at all. I have seen 255/55/18 and I was going to do the comparable 255/50/19's but haven't seen anyone running 19's. I really just want the biggest tire, I do want spacers also for some poke. Does anyone have any idea on 19's that would beef this up?? Maybe i run the 245/50/19

    Thanks in advance.

I think even a 245/50R19 is gonna be to big. That's about a 29" tire, and isn't gonna fit without other modifications.

Your best bet is gonna be either a 235/50R19 or a 245/45R19.

You could even go a 255/45R19, but the selection in that size is pretty limited.

All three of those sizes should fit fine along with a 1" spacer, the most poke is gonna be with the widest tire, the 255/45R19

Thank you for that information. So those tires would fit without any modifications but only the spacer? I may go 1.25 on the spacer

They should fit with or without the spacer, you'll probably be ok with a 1.25 inch spacer, although that's going to be close to the back of the front inner fenders on the wider tires (255) when turning at lock.

If you go with the 255/45R19, Yeah. If you go with either of the others, I thing the 1.25 spacer would be fine.

thank you. Of course I want the widest takes so I’m going to order 1” tonight as I’m picking up tomorrow afternoon. I can do the pinch weld mod but really don’t want to

Yes he did, but with a different rim.. If you are going to change rims, then everything will be different, and you should consider going to a smaller rim. Also, those are actually an entirely different design Renegade, (The way the body is put together changed and the pinch seam is different from 2019 and up).

I suspect those folks had rub on the pinch seam too, and just never mentioned it.

I think you MIGHT be fine running the 255/45R19 with the 1.25 spacer, But I don't know anyone who's put 19"s on a renegade yet, you're entering new territory :)

It's also worth mentioning that there can be pretty big variances in size between brands of tires, It shouldn't be huge with tires in the range we're talking about, But it's another factor to consider...

Ok I thank you guys for all this info. I’m picking up my 21 in an hour. I would like to keep the stock rims as I think the 19s 80th anniversary are pretty nice. I will purchase one tire I guess and have it fitted to see. Or just take it to my tire guy to see if he has time to screw around with tires. I do have a place where I work that Soups up wranglers but he’s a ripoff. But I’ll have to see. So you guys are thinking that the 2021 has different makeup under there huh?

So picked it up today. Love it. But those tires are so small and ugly. I when the wheel is full lock to the left, drivers side I have like 7/8 of an inch. To the spring plate or whatever you call it I have like 3/4 of an inch which leads me to believe I can add 1 1/2 width of tire. The distance from the plate to rim plumb up is like 1 1/2 but that’s not counting for the curve of the tire. Of course spacers are needed. 1.24 or 1.5. Here are a couple pics. Can anyone help off of this crappy info. Lol

Does anyone know where I can find a cheap 19 inch rim exact stock or the like so I can test fit some tires?

Pretty much everything 19" in that size (And to a lesser extent, everything with an aspect ratio of 55 and below) Is going to be either an all season radial, or a street performance oriented tire, You just don't find all terrain's or mud terrains until you get down to 18 inches, and you don't find decent ones until you get down to 17".

Did it come with a full size 19" spare? If it did then the steel rim for the spare should be the right size.

Barring that, I don't think you're going to find a cheap rim until some 2021 renegades start showing up in the junkyards.

The 80th anniversary, The Jeepster, and the Islander are all running 19" rims stock, And there an option on the limited..

I did a search on car-part.com and didn't find any at all yet...

Actually, Those are some good meaurements you got..

So, Let's break down the number a bit, so you get a good understanding of what you're trying to do....

That stock tire is a 235/45r19...

235 is the width of the tire... so the stock tire is 235 divide by 25.4 = 9.25" wide.

The 45 is aspect ratio, meaning the sidewall of the tire is 45% of the width... So 9.25" x 45% = 4.15" for the sidewalls, times upper and lower sidewall, 8.3" of sidewall.

Add the sidewalls to the rim diameter (19") to get the total height of the tire. 19 + 8.3 = 27.3"

I Use Crawlpedia's calculator to figure out what tires are what size...

    https://www.crawlpedia.com/tire_size_converter.htm

Using that was how I arrived at 255/45r19 (28" Tall x 10" wide) Being the largest tire you could run, Being 3/4" wider, It will actually be 3/8" further in under the spring perch, and 3/4" of an inch taller brings it 3/8" closer to the bottom of the spring perch.

So yes, I would think you would need at least a 1 inch spacer to get it out further from the spring perch.

The biggest problem with a spacer is it increases the arc/sweep at the outer edge of the tire, and that tends to bring the tire closer to the rear of the inner fender as you go to lock, full lock isn't actually when it usually rubs, it's part way through the sweep..

If you can get someone else to turn the wheel while you look inside the fender, you'll see when it's getting close to it, and that's the measurement that is usually the got ya in these scenarios...

Thank you very much for that. At full lock I had a thumb space. I have to do something with those tires if I’m going to add 3/4 of an inch I don’t think that’s the look I’m trying to go after.

All that info gave me is awesome and I thank you very much for it. The problem is going to the 255/45/19 doesn’t really increase the tire size much and the truck is still going to look like it’s driving on bologna skins. I don’t think these 19s are going to work. What size rim and width do you recommend I should go with that will not rub while using a 1.25 spacer. I’m trying not to go crazy spending money on rims here, maybe I can get a used set of jeep wrangler rims or something then I would have to use a spacer with both different both patterns. But I would like to see what you recommend on rims and tires I should use to get the look I’m looking for. I might go 16 inch as they are cheaper. Or 17s I have to look at biggest tire without lift or pinch mod.
